Oddly enough my dad doesn't have a custom ringtone, may have to look into that. Everyone else isn't special enough to get one.

I dont think my phone has ever not been muted, but if i had to pick a song, probably this starting somewhere around the 40-50 second mark. Very nostalgic, very unlikely to be heard in the wild and be missed.

Honestly, it's such a royal pain to do anything with audio in Android that isn't VLC. I don't bother with changing any of the audio settings, so it's whatever the manufacturer says.

I still set custom ringtone and notification sounds even though my phone is on silent 70% of any given day.

Android doesn't give you the separate option for banner + nosound. It's all or nothing.

However, if you have a 15sec audio file with silence, you can set the sound to that and still get a banner.

- Huh, guess I've been doing that for no reason. I added the silent file a long time ago, and because it adds your custom ringtones to the list I figured it was because I added the file, so I kept doing that for each new phone....

Honestly I don't know. My phone's been on silent/vibration for a few years now.

- I used to have a smart watch that could force call it even when on silent. I switched now and sometimes find my phone app can still force the ring tone but sometimes not. Really sucks tbh.

My ringtone is a station jingle from Tokyo's Yamanote line. Rarely hear it though, as my phone is usually on silent.

I have mine set to one of the tracks from Simcity 2000. I was a bit curious to see if anyone would recognise it but nobody has so far (though some people have said it sounded familiar).

Most calls I get however are through my work phone and that just stays on silent to the point I can't even think of what the ringtone actually sounds like.

Often vibrate-only, but when not, voice/video calls are on defaults. I received them rarely and haven't bothered to set it.

My default for messages is a honk from Untitled Goose Game. Specific contacts get custom notifications, usually bird calls, though one who likes cats more than most has a meow.

All default sounds are set to silent, then I selectively set tones for apps/contacts.

This ensures I only get sound for specific things.
