It's also a gray area because loops doesn't federate yet, but it probably will someday
In a way it is up to us in the aggregate.
I always called those motor bikes with the pedals mopeds, and the ones without pedals "vespa scooters" (USA)
It's funny you say this because I've heard people who believe in karma and reincarnation talk about coming back as a tiger like it's bad thing.
Scary! But a baby bear is cute. Because of mammal instincts to take care of baby
The influencers went there first as protest because they're a Chinese company
Many people died because of both books
Remember that twiiter was not up against a deadline. There was no reason to move to move quickly.
We just had a supreme Court hearing on tiktok yesterday and it didn't look good for tiktok. That's why this is more sudden.
Why RedNote instead of loops.video or something? I'm not sure how the influencers decided to go there. Maybe that's your conspiracy. Or maybe one person thought of migrating to another Chinese app as protest and other people copied them
Chef's kiss!
I am glad to hear your perspective. When I was younger I did everything without owning a car. I would take 3 hour bus/train trips that would be 40 minutes driving (infrequently). I carpooled, borrowed my parents' car. I used Zipcar when I really needed one. Finally I ended up getting a car for a job out in the countryside where I didn't want to depend on my co-workers again for going into town.
Part of me keeps wanting to structure my life around the car-free lifestyle, or at least car-lite. But I guess I'm balancing how much and how far I will go.
I agree. I am hearing what you're saying, and I feel the loss of finding this out about him. However I've had a similar experience of wanting to like Gaiman because he checked all the right boxes, and just feeling put off by something in his writing. And thinking it was a problem with me. It's easy for the mind to see this news and say, aha, that's why I didn't like him. But that's the benefit of hindsight. Who knows if things like this, the hidden part of people's personality, are actually detectable in their writing. Anyone feeling like I do is just trying to make sense of it all the same as everybody else. And it's important to recognize that he was a role model for so many and did good work with his fiction, and not trying to say it was obvious, because it wasn't.
I live in an ideal part of the suburbs. I'm close to my work, school, the swimming pool, the grocery store, etc.,. In many instances, the scooter is more consistently faster than driving and finding parking.
Commute times (door to door):
: Work : School : Grocery : Swimming Pool Walk : 40 min : 15 min : 25 min : 15 min Bike : 15-20 : 5-10 : 15 min : 5 min Scooter: 10-15 : 5 min : 10 min : 3 min Car : 5-10 : 5-10 : 5-10 : 5 min
My problem is, I really need to make changes in life, like go to the swimming pool more often even in winter; get a better job which will be farther away. I think I'm putting these off because I don't want to drive.
All of these will be easier if I just embrace driving my car more. I can take groceries more easily. I can carry more swim equipment and I won't get so cold coming home from the pool. But I don't like driving because I feel like I'm a greater danger to myself and others, even though I'm a pretty careful driver.
Do any of you face similar challenges; do you just drive when it makes the most sense to drive?
Unknown source, just found it on Facebook and last trace I found is this Reddit post but it isn’t marked as OC: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/gmky0e/the_difference_between_constantinople_city_of/ [https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/gmky0e/the_difference_between_constantinople_city...

Hey anyone have an idea? I remember the hook but SoundHound doesn't know it.
Hi all,
I started self hosting nextcloud only. Now I have a domain name and I would like to selfhost more services and websites on subdomains without having to open up more ports on my router.
- Is it reasonable to use a reverse proxy server to avoid opening up more ports?
- Can I use a reverse proxy manager that simplifies SSL certs, etc?
- Can I put the HTTP/HTTPS services behind a reverse proxy, behind a free cloudflare DNS proxy to mask my IP address?
- And put other non-http services on the real IP address.
- Will all of this be more prone to failure and slow compared to forwarding 443 and 80 directly to my nextcloud server?
The other services I would like to eventually host and have accessible externally are
- Jitsi
- Mastodon instance (hoping to make some bots that mirror other social media to bring them into Mastodon)
- blog website
- Veilid maybe
- OpenVPN over TCP on 443 (to get through restrictive firewalls on e.g. school wifi networks that don't whitelist domains)
- Synology to Synology backup.
I'm hoping to use Yunohost on a RPI to simplify hosting a lot of these things.
Here's my plan where I'm looking for feedback. Am I missing any steps? Are my assumptions correct?
- Install reverse proxy on yunohost; configure cloudflare DNS and freedns.afraid.org to point towards the reverse DNS server.
- Configure the reverse DNS to redirect various subdomains to
- the raspberry pi running nextcloud
- the other raspberry pi running openvpn
- the Synology running the backup service
- services running on the yunohost raspberry pi
I have not been able to find good documentation about how to configure the yunohost reverse proxy, or how to deal with HTTP headers, or have correct certificates on all the subdomains as well as the reverse proxy. Looking for advice on how to move forward and or simply this setup.
I see there is also a 'selfhosted' community that is more broad than tailscale
I know about:
- swimsuit
- towel
- sunblock
- kite
- water bottle
- chair
Hey y'all, I don't want to share too much but do any of you know any good resources for people who want to come back to veganism?
Stuff like help with meal planning. Navigating social situations. Psychologically dealing with doing the best you can and making a fresh start.
