City: The Animation for me. I really wanted to like it and the animation style is great, but I just didn't find it very funny.

I use Youtube a lot and I dislike clickbait. I generally avoid videos with obviously clickbaity titles or thumbnails. That said, some of the Youtubers I watch have resorted to using more clickbaity titles in recent years and as long as their content is still good, I tolerate it to some degree. I understand that making money on Youtube is not easy for small creators and if those strategies get them more clicks, I'm okay with it as long as they're not being manipulative in a blatantly malicious way.

If it happens, I hope they won't make the same mistakes as the EU and make sure to implement these rules in a way that they can't be easily circumvented. The way in which Apple "complies" with the EU's rules makes them almost worthless.

There isn't a single site I'd consider an alternative. These days I mostly order from specialized online shops for different product categories, so for example electronics from Alternate, video games from netgames etc. Price comparison sites are often a good place to find these shops. When available I buy directly from manufacturers as well, especially clothing. Occasionally I also order stuff from AliExpress.

I also found that I buy less things in general since ditching Amazon. I guess the additional hassle of buying through other shops makes it easier to realize I don't actually need many of the things I might have otherwise purchased.

Crazy how much airtime this game gets, for what it is. Seems like we'll know about every aspect of the game in excruciating detail by the time it releases. The first one was already twice as long as it needed to be, but I guess as long as it makes Sakurai happy....

Pretty sure it's just a close-up photo of this model reconstruction from 1917. This article contains a higher-res version of the photo where you can see that it's just the roughly painted model houses making it look somewhat AI-like.

There isn't one. If I had to pick the one I want to revisit the least, I guess it would be Belgium. Nothing against Belgium, but Bruges aside it isn't really the most interesting place to visit.

I was gifted that book, but I admit I haven't really read it. I do miss Iwata-era Nintendo. It wasn't perfect, but it felt far less "soulless corporation" than it does now. Having an actual game developer leading a gaming company is definitely better than a random corpo. And Iwata himself seemed like a decent person.

Cool concept for sure! Gave the demo a short go, but it seems like it's really just a tech-demo, where you can place some buildings on the world map but with no actual gameplay.

Yes! It's the Demon Turf devs, so it's in competent hands. The demo is quite fun. Also filled with self-aware references to Bubsy's... colorful past.

I've found some good stuff (Bus Bound, Bubsy 4D), but none of it through the actual Steam Next Fest store page. That indeed seems to be overloaded with low-effort crap.

They basically can't be compared, because there is no other standalone VR/MR device anywhere close to the price point. Samsung is planning to release a competitor at some point though.

Interesting that they went with another Pro rather than a cheaper "Apple Vision". I can't imagine this will sell. The buyers of the first gen will hardly spend another 3,5k for an incremental performance upgrade (which is used for... watching movies and rendering sharper text apparently?) and I don't see anything that would attract new people either.

So you think with Harris in power in 2025, there would also be unidentified policemen roaming the streets, disappearing non-white people into unmarked vans? There would still be military deployed to cities across the US due to a fictional crime wave? Universities would still be denied funding for refusing to discriminate based on race or gender? I don't think so.

If you really can't see any difference in the methods employed and the scale of repression between the recent (!) democrat and republican governments, I don't know what to tell you. Bringing up events from 50+ years ago like the red scare seems quite irrelevant.
