Trying to earn a record for "youngest person to <insert a thing>" is just an IRL speedrun
  • Im reminded of KurtJMac walking to the Farlands in Minecraft. Guy just started walking 13 years ago and has kept going all this time. The last time he checked his coordinates he was 9,864,725 blocks from spawn. Hes about 70% of the way there so only a few more years to go!

  • Is sopuli currenty a bit unstable?
  • I was having a lot of the same issues last night, around when this post was made. There havent been any issues for me this morning though 🤞

  • Day 67 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots
  • Inventory full of cobble and iron tools...

"we gotta build that ICBM to kill the dragon!"

    I love Minecraft. :P

  • Another job lost because of technology 👿
  • GeoGuessr person:"ok, now which directions are the shadows pointing? Any wildflowers or birds in the area?"

Caller: "I'm just looking for a gas station"

  • Rule everything
  • Oh look, my manager assigning me stuff based off the (ai generated) zoom meeting notes.

  • Large rule spotted
  • PssPssPssPssPss

  • Knights of the static table rule
  • Also it just seems to hit different at McDonalds. like they put extra carbonation in or something.

  • [OC] The Nut Tree
  • "Hmm, i wonder what kind of nut tree this is? its a nice looking tree"

    Scrolls down

    "Oh"

  • Moneyless Harvest Moon-type game?
  • The first games that popped into my head were Forager and Outpath, though these arent so much community building type games. They are more just something cute to relax to. They have farming and resource collecting and honestly play more like an active idler game than anything. Another game ive sunk tons of time into that kinda meets your requirements is Banished. Its just a medieval city builder game but it is deceptively hard to get a good balanced town going which can be pretty rewarding in itself. Theres no money per se but you do have to manage resources. Theres bartering in the game but you use your resources like crops and stone and stuff.

  • Bliss
  • This was my brothers cat, Skitter. She loved scritches under the chin.

  • What smell do you love that you’re not supposed to love?
  • A newly opened package of those survey marker flags you stick in ground. It smells like those old vinyl pool floaties dialed up to 11.

  • Reef Sharks
  • "shit, did I leave the water running?" -shark

  • And be sure to "tip" with one of those fake bills.
  • Long ago, way back in highschool, I worked at a restaurant part time. We would get a few of those fake bills every weekend and every Monday on my way to school I would take a small detour to the church who was passing them out and dumped them in their donations bin. I doubt it made any difference but it made me feel better at least.

  • Jawgs
  • 🎵Hot. Dog. Hot. Dog. Hot-Dog Hot-Dog, Hot-Dot, Hot-Dog, hotdog hotdog hotdog hotdog hotdog hotdog hotdog 🎶

  • My neighbor is moving and their trailer is parked pretty sketchy. Should I say something?
  • I know OP said they would go talk to their neighbor but I just wanted to add an anecdote. I worked at a place that had a bunch of trailers, and it wasn't uncommon for someone to need a vehicle and just leave the trailer in the parking lot. One time someone didn't secure it and it started to roll. A new guy who was trying to be the hero went to stop it and got his thumb crushed between the trailer and a steel beam of a pavilion. He ended up loosing his thumb. So yeah, chock your trailers and don't try to catch a run away one.

  • Butterfly
  • I always get this bitter sweet feeling when I see butterflies now. They used to be everywhere around where I live now I'm lucky to see a few per year.

  • Limit player movement to a certain number of blocks?
  • Could maybe use command blocks and the invisible barrier blocks together somehow. Like moving a box of barriers around the player on a timed delay or after an input. Ive never used command blocks but some of the videos ive watched of games made with them seem like it could work.

  • Being forced to accept _all_ cookies unless I pay
  • Ive seen so many sites that just straight up wont work if you dont accept all cookies. You get the "tracking free" version of the site which is literally nothing. Or they say ok, just make an account and you can reject cookies. Fuck that

  • What do you use AI/LLMs for in your personal life?

I recently set up a LLM to run locally on my desktop. Now that the novelty of setting it up and playing with different settings has worn off, I'm struggling to come up with actual uses for it. What do you use it for when not doing work stuff?

    Happpy HHalllloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Had some fun with a random Mad-lib style prompt and inserting "holding a sign saying Happy Halloween". The Text, of course isn't the greatest but, not that bad actually. The AI really likes jackolanterns with the Halloween keyword. Every image had tons of jackolanterns even though I didn't tell it to. The Prompt was "Adj Adj Random-Monster, holding a sign that says happy Halloween. By Random-Artist and Random-Artist." Here are a few more of the better ones:

    Fire Starter

I really like how this came out, I didn't originally want the fire but the AI kept adding it with the Tanuki keyword so I leaned into it. It took a while to get though, it kept trying to make the Tanuki a horse and getting the fairy to ride it without it turning lewd or just ignoring the prompt was a pain. Anyone have any tips on that? anyways, heres a few more i liked.

Is there a way to show read posts when visiting an instance directly but hide them when you view your main feeds?

When I'm scrolling through my main subscribed feeds or all, Id like to be able to hide posts Ive read/voted on so I don't see the same posts for days at a time, but still be able to visit an instance directly and see all posts made there. In smaller communities, hiding read posts can turn that instance into a ghost town. Its also nice to go back and read new comments on posts your interested in and hiding read posts makes that difficult. Right now it seems like its hide everything everywhere or not and no in between.

Edit- after creating this post I went to view my profile and didn't see it there. Turns out hiding read posts, also hides your own posts? Am I missing something here?
