You really can't, because a lot of Curry's best works have become timeless classics that have gone on to gain new fans. I certainly wasn't alive for the original theatrical run of Rocky Horror Picture Show or the broadcast of the IT tv series, but they're the first two that come to mind.
You certainly were and are alive for Rocky Horror Picture Show's original theatrical release because it is still on it. It has been continuously shown in theaters since it came out. It is the longest running release in movie history as well as most played movie in terms of numbers of showings in history. And it just had a 4k release for its 50th anniversary, also on its original theatrical run.
Of course. I took my uncle to midnight showing, and the guy in front of him heard him disparaging the "hippies" around the theater. When Dr Frank-N-Furter came down the elevator, the guy stood up, and when Dr. F made his reveal, the guy spun around to face my uncle, and yanked his long coat open to reveal a full Dr F costume. It traumatized my uncle for life.
I watched Ferngully for the first time again in likw 20 years maybe. Movie still holds up exactly like I remember and now I can't stop singing like Tim Curry mmmm Poison slime, toxic slug mmm that's what I love mmmm. Tim Curry is the mutha fuckin man!
Everything. But... Clue, Legend, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic. Wish I could have seen him on stage (always loved Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, would have been great to see it with him in it).
Thanks! I'd forgotten about his joining them. Had to look it up (he was in the episode they returned to Kai's home planet. Of course it's all excentric costumes & mad singing. Essentially, the whole species is a tribute to Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of course Tim Curry is key to making a proper tribute).
....Space!
