  • Specifically I’ve got Dispatch, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk I’m trying to get set up.

I have the Ryujinx set up as part of Emudeck, so not too worried about that.

Basically once I unpack the games I’m not sure what exactly needs to get transferred over to the Deck in general. Like the whole folder under C:/Games/Dispatch or whatnot.

When you say I need the Proton set up — you mean I need to fully download a different repack of the game that runs on Linux? I know Proton GE and Experimental are launch types I can use on the deck for stability and such when launching via Steam. But I can’t even get the .exe or whatnot to get recognized by the Deck when I pulled it from a Flash Drive.

Help Please? (Linux and Windows transfer)

  • Mostly just to finish Wheel of Time I think.

I’d also like to read Dungeon Crawler Carl #8 early summer.

I’ll probably read Sunrise on the Reaping before the movie drops as well.

Other than that, I don’t usually set hard goals. I just like to read. _^

Oh yeah, maybe I’ll finish the rest of the Red Rising series. I took a break at the end of book 3, since it seemed like a solid stopping point. Oh yeah, and I want to read the Poppy War (trilogy?) and Blood Meridian…

    Backlogs are hard.

  • I am nearly done with book 6, and while it’s an incredibly long and verbose story with impeccable world building, it is not for everyone.

I haven’t read much high fantasy outside of Tolkien — and the Stormlight Archive — however. So this is really my first foray into fantasy outside of LOTR and the Hobbit.

I think I really like it, and I have been enjoying learning about the world as the series progresses.

Truthfully if you like Cosmere stuff you’ll probably like it. I’d give Eye of the World a spin and just roll with it. If you aren’t interested by the end of that book… well try the Great Hunt. Hah! I’ve heard that rereads also always glean more information that is hinted at super early on, so I think internal consistency is very well done.

Jordan does a really good job of fleshing out character motivations based on unreliable information.

  • Yeah. I have heard that from this point on the series slows considerably until Sanderson picks it up, but he still writes it as if Jordan was the author.

I don’t think WoT is conducive to Brando Sando’s signature Sanderlanche — actually, maybe it does, because I definitely felt like a there has been a point in each book where I can’t put it down until I finish it. Usually that’s the last 4-5 chapters. Or there is a fakeout climax and then the real climax happens like in

Edit: No idea what happened in the second paragraph, but I went back and reformatted it. I must have been distracted while typing it it.

  • I’m on the tail end of Lord of Chaos (Wheel of Time 6).

10 8 more chapters to go. It feels like a lot has happened, but also not a lot has happened at all in the grand scheme of things.

I am quite enjoying Jordan’s phrases of smoothing skirts, tugging braids, scrubbing hair, and knuckling foreheads/mustaches still.

I’ve been alternating between audiobooks and my e-reader, and my only complaint is that I cannot figure out how to pronounce Aes Sedai and Aiel names relative to howKramer and Reading do. I’m always off.

  • I have been playing my new favorite game:

Tinkering with software on the deck

Setting up emulation and fiddling with FF7 Remake Intergrade to disable some graphics setting has been my main task this week.

Setting up Decky and Lossless Scaling is my task for next week.

Maybe I’ll actually play some games on it too. Hollow Knight and Haste have been absolute blasts. Can’t believe it took me so long to start HK.
