How many iterations will it take for them to just say what they're really against: policies that promote empathy and compassion for people who are different
That's the ironic part. Even if we went back to 1800 the vast majority of these angry people wouldn't be slave owners because they wouldn't be able to afford it. They'd actually be far more likely to be debt-slaves than own any people themselves. The era they actually want to go back to is an idealized version of the 1950s, when you couldn't own people but you could call them slurs in public, they had separate drinking fountains, and they lived far away from you. Plus you could hit your wife if dinner didn't taste perfect, physical and mental abuse was how kids were raised (when you saw them at all), and one income could raise a family.
Sad how those last six words are the only thing we could agree on and should actually get back to, but it's cheaper for the owner class to stoke hate.
I forgot what CRT was. It feels like its been years. Critical Race Theory, right? It was just a few months ago they were talking about it though.
Complaining about education (ex: common core) is pretty common because no one likes change. CRT could at least arguably be seen as a new subject matter / new way of teaching history that people wouldn't like. But DEI is... like going really mask off now.
I dislike common core (at least as it relates to math) because it prioritizes tricks to solve equations rather than a fundamental understanding of operations.
You guys keep coming up with different names for "not being an asshole", then some asshole comes and claims it's some evil scheme because the name's so fucking obscure that of course dumbasses are going to fall for that shit
It’s essentially another way to treat minorities more fairly
On paper.
In practice, it's more bureaucratic wall papering and cya, intended to obscure industry practices that continue to almost exclusively promote through nepotism and political graft.
Access to government contracts and Senate seats and Ivy League fraternities and Wall Street bank management positions continues to be a White Boys Only club.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Conservatives have been going hard after diversity programs. They've been banned in state educational institutions in Texas.
I ended up adding a whole section in my course syllabus that's basically a middle finger to the new rules and makes is clear that intolerance is not welcome in my class.
I thought they were pissing about something else between CRT and DEI, but I can't remember what it was. Shows you how shallow their rage machine actually is
