Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it “by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States.”
Jerry Nadler called it the same and went further because he rightfully said, " he wishes the war the continue because if it does not, he will lose power and be voted out. He cares nothing for those hostages and cares only about staying in power."
He went on to call it a shameful display and call it a worthless speech.
Hell yes, finally, someone on either side says the truth! How refreshing. It's great to have specific examples of a powerful dem that is willing to not bend over for genocide.
Are we actually asking if an utterly vile, demonstrably corrupt, entirely self-serving psychopath who's overseeing a genocide, a violent incremental land grab and repeated attempts to provoke wars with four different neighbors has "finally lost America?"
Every time I think this timeline couldn't possibly be more fucked up, it shocks me yet again.
He's one of the most loathsome pieces of shit to have ever sleazed his way into office anywhere - a foul, noxious, utterly repugnant psychopath who bears personal responsibility for tens of thousands of murders and for the undue suffering of millions. And he gets fucking standing ovations from people who have the gall to consider themselves worthy representatives of the American people.
It's grotesque. It's so far removed from human decency or even sanity that it defies any sort of valid explanation. Sincerely, the only conclusion I can reach is that the lunatics are in charge of the asylum - that somehow we've ended up with a society led by monsters - by amoral, loathsome, foul wretches who are so clearly depraved that they likely shouldn't even be allowed out in public unaccompanied, much less entrusted with power.
Maybe to a psychopath. Any negative quality can be considered a slur by someone possessing it. A selfish person doesn’t like being called selfish, I suspect. I’m still going to call spades spades.
Still, while Trump has not exactly turned on Israel, he has clearly soured somewhat on Netanyahu, who he is still angry at for congratulating Biden on his election victory in 2020.
These fucking people are children and they have power to do real shit and that is depressing.
With all of the threats facing us, the ruling elite have made it very clear that they are unwilling to do what needs to be done. We need to remove them from power using any means necessary.
Netanyahu cares about his own political survival and nothing else. He told the families of hostages that he’s waiting for poll numbers to negotiate the hostages’ release, then never even made a good faith effort to negotiate, regardless of the poll numbers.
Netanyahu is committing genocide to game domestic politics and stay in power.
Oh Hitler did that first. The entire reason he was doing lebensraum and "reclaiming" German territories was to steal money to keep the government functioning and build the German military. It's kind of wild. He probably could have told the world to stick their war reparations where the sun don't shine and managed some sort of functional government. But nope he went full meth head instead. Which is probably uh because he was one.
Pelosi is looking down ballot. She knows the importance of keeping at least the house and sees how Bidens policies have fucked that up so badly. Gloves are off.
I think the last thing holding the Democrats to Israel as a whole was the whole "Don't criticize Biden" environment we had going. Now that Harris is the candidate and she's relatively unscathed by the issue the entire tenor has changed in the Israel war posts on Lemmy.
That doode cannot come here and talk like he did and expect Americans to solve his problems with American money. He is going to learn some lessons from a potential Harris administration.
I keep hearing people say this but does anyone have a reason why they believe Harris will be tougher on Israel than Biden was? I haven't seen any sort of indication that she will other than a few words in a speech, despite Biden having been very soft on Israel.
The sad truth is that there are overriding geopolitical strategic interests behind the US support of Israel. The American executive power recognizes this, so military support is not going to go away as long as those interests are a concern.
They may pay some lip service to the whole genocide thing, but this is ultimately realpolitik. Human lives do not matter when they are not American.
They are certainly trying to oust anyone who spoke out against them in the Democratic party with pro Israel candidates, like Wesley Bell over Cori Bush in Missouri.
It is a good and smart move for a foreign power to align itself with conservatives under Trump. Israel will certainly not regret marrying herself to Donald Trump.
