This is so idiotic. If this is the best plan the Democrats have, god help us.
I killed Instagram and Whatsapp recently when Mark started buddying up to Trump.
Deleted Twitter shortly after Elon took over, which bummed me out since it was a good place for software development information.
Quit reddit after the API ordeal when I didn't want to use the official client.
I was a long time user of each platform, and I was bummed when I had to leave each.
Now I have bluesky, lemmy, mastodon, and some occasional discord servers I hangout on. I miss Instagram as a time waster, but I'll survive without funny dog videos and fitness models.
Yeah I don't have high hopes for our institutions, and I'm probably in a strong state of denial. I just want something to hold out for.
Best case: Put out a warrant for their arrest. Step two, wait for the doj to not do their job. Raise hell about it, hopefully American citizens still care, get Congress to do their job, impeach the president (again)
That's all predicated on citizens knowing enough about how the government is supposed to work to be outraged.
They have to try though.
I've worked on projects for the government as a contractor. There is SQL; SQL as far as the eye can see. I'm sure the NSA has some novel solutions to crunching shittons of big data, but day to day, at least in my experience, it is a lot of relational CRUD and reporting queries.
For the curious, it does clearly exist:

Hopefully it wasn't deleted, deleted. Normally I feel like there would be backups, but I could see our fearless leader ordering it ALL to be permanently wiped such that recovery would be impossible.
I think we should have empathy for people that were fooled into voting for Trump with the promise of prosperity. Working people should be voting for a party that actually supports the middle class, and Republicans had better (albeit untruthful) messaging there.
Whatever their reasons, if the voters are seeing the consequences of their actions and reflecting I'm going to forgive them. It sucks that it came to this, but if people are learning from their mistakes, we might be able to push back in a couple of years. I have less empathy for those that haven't changed their minds. I have zero empathy for people that voted for Trump out of hate.

Save us plumber!
I don't think you are supposed to eat basil without chopping or chewing it.
Looks great!
These people are supposed to be representing their constituents; it isn't supposed to be an episode of Jerry Springer. I'm surprised they aren't literally throwing chairs.
The project sounds neat, but when I saw the thumbnail I was wondering why someone posted about a 1995 Thinkpad. I don't think I could go back to a thick laptop, even if the screen is tiny.
I'd probably go for a framework laptop with a keyboard in my bookbag, but that's just me.
My guess is this is another nail in the coffin for the "unprofitable" USPS. Businesses can't tolerate disruptions and private shipping companies will be more than happy to step up.
Hulu was my Netflix alternative. If they start showing me ads I'm done with them too. Hopefully this was added for live events, sports, etc, but I don't know if they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Dynamic-librul library
The QR code offering a virtual tasting blows my mind. Do they send you an airplane bottle? Do they describe the wine as someone else drinks it? Do you have to jack in?
It's usually there so people seek out the only fans / subscription content. Additionally for general exposure (ha!), likes and followers.
Thanks for the real link! It sounded plausible, but you can never be too careful.
This website is super fishy. Misspelled title and reeks of AI.
