That's actually a slow, dark cover song written exclusively for that film. If you listen to the original version by Tears for Fears, it's a much more energetic, happy-sounding song. You wouldn't even know it was dark unless you were paying attention to the lyrics.
3 0 ReplyYeah I remember the Tears for Fears original, wasn’t a fan when I first heard it. It wasn’t until Michael Andrews/Gary Jules’ version that I became hooked.

It's a decent song but I seem to remember that summer its all I heard. 😄
9 0 ReplyThis is the song that got me into rock and eventually metal
5 0 ReplyI remember that summer, stuck in the countryside, satellite TV being the only entertainment other than fucking around on my bike. I disappear and Take a look around are similarily linked in my mind.
4 0 ReplyI was always annoyed a little bit because I was a bigger Limp Bizkit fan and at least their song used the M:I theme music!

Much more impactful than how it was used in Shrek 2.
Real stakes, life and death. Spoiler warning - clip spoils the climax of the movie...
5 0 ReplyOmg yes! I didn’t even think of this one until you mentioned it. I was so in love with those movies as a kid.
