If you are in the US, and a karen threatens to call ICE on you, what's the best course of action?
I saw a clip on reddit about such karen and now that scenario is stuck in my head, new fear unlocked.

With the blatant disregard for the rule of law this administration has already shown, it may not matter what number you fall under. A lot of it, very sadly, seems to be dependent on what you look like.
If you're 1 through 3, why are you picking a fight with a Karen? Get out before it escalates. And if it does, keep your head down and hope for the best. Or move cities, especially if you're #1. 4's and 5's may want to have proof of citizenship accessible. Keep a picture of your birth/naturalization certificate and/or passport on your phone, preferably behind a password like in a password vault app - don't just keep it in your camera roll, it needs encrypting.
It's also worthwhile keeping in mind that some Karens' bark is worse than their bite. They may have gotten off on the threat enough to not go thru with it.

I didn't turn on sounds because its too depressing to hear the rant, but based on comments, its a doordash driver and the karen is making accusations of "they took our jobs" basically, and karen keeps getting in their face. Like what was this person supposed to do? Feels terrifying.

I'm not going to watch the video. Site unseen I'm willing to pass judgment and consider her a truly terrible person. That doesn't change the math though. If you have no visa to work, you may need to bow out of that job. You can't risk denunciation on principle. Which is a fucking depressing sentence to write. But here we are in 2025.
I've been in a few confrontations in my life.
First rule in any confrontation is to maintain your cool. If you aren't going to throw the first punch, you want to look like the reasonable one. They are like dogs and can smell fear.
The figure out how to deescalate the situation. Ask her what she wants? Free delivery? A written apology? Yes her to death and walk away.
Having spent time in retail, yesing her to death is a legit strategy. You don’t have to agree with her for real, it’s like dealing with a toddler pitching a fit. They are primed for screaming and confrontation and don’t really know how to deal with someone who refuses to ‘play their part’ in the drama. Takes the wind out of their sails and leaves them confused, which is the perfect time to escape.

I don't condone violence normally for any reason, but anyone who does this to anyone clearly deserves a wooden board to the face.

Use some logic. Cops aren't going to search that hard for someone who might be an illegal. They are going to look long and hard for someone who assaulted an old woman.

Act like you can't hear and get away. If she grabs or tries to block moving away then escalate to what is required to get away.

Still similar advice, get away, have a manager or ally deal with them. The point is to try and deescalate by removing yourself from the situation. If they prevent that and continue escalating then you escalate to the level needed to get away and call the cops on them.

4 and 5 have very different answers depending on race. I'm white, have a Midwestern accent, and was born here. I can look at this person like they're a moron and ask if they've never heard an ohio accent before or what. A Latino born in the same hospital who grew up a town over has to be more diplomatic about explaining that them and their parents were born here.
Similarly a white person naturalized from Australia can be a lot more blase than a brown person naturalized from anywhere.
