I just wanna know what the red guy's plan was. He hangs out in arcades as a veteran of the, uh, sport, and coaches others in being one with the machine... then acts surprised when they achieve it.
If this is the first time his advice has worked, I once again ask: what the hell is his overall plan in being there.
His advice can "work" without the person dissolving into the fundamental essence of the claw machine. The much more likely, third option is "the vague, trite advice gets them out of their own head and lets them keep trying without crashing out until they win."
That's fair. And then he shrinks back into the shadows and waits for the next guy having an existential crisis. I guess I just really want to know whether the red guy works for the machine or not
Being and Nothingness and Being and Time are the books you want on this. That's a 1000 pages by Sartre and Heidegger and the core documents of existentialism.
Have I read it all? Fuck no, this shit is hard to read. I once reread a page 8 times and still didn't get it.
