We had 84ish% participation US had 64%ish(?) Additionally we had 29% for conservatives, which would be the people in the US voting rep eventhough they would not admit to directly supporting Trump. The gap is smaller than it seems, though plurality in the political system (multiple parties, not winner takes it all) relaxes the situation quite a bit.

Yes, but those people know better than to tell their co-workers or friends (and even families) that they did, because they'd be treated like the fucking imbeciles they are. Compare that to the US where the MAGAs are the loudest, most outspoken fuckos of all who can't stop advertising their idotic evilness with hats, megaphones, and internet opinions. That's a world apart from what is happening in Germany - so far.
The remaining parties are arresting Jews for antisemitism so its worse than that.

The German government is one of the most suppressive in the western world in regards to protests against a literal genocide happening right now in Gaza. A genocide legally labeled as such by institutions erected as a result of Germany's genocide. Branding wise, Germany is extremely progressive, but in principle and practice, it is extremely sad to see how little Germany has come along.
That applies to all G7.
Western Germany never really purged Nazis. The CDU was always the Nazi continuation party, starting in 1945.
Germany's AfD is the second biggest party.
And the biggest party is the CDU which also hates brown people, women and queers.

Here's the thing, tRUMP and his cronies want you to be tired of it. They want you to say 'meh, this does nothing'. They want you to accept it and move on wearily. Once enough people are worn down by it all then it will become normal and accepted.

You're not wrong but I'd also look at it from the perspective of "We've been making statements like this for years now and the situation has only gotten worse, so what else should we be doing?" Status quo isn't really just the result of people giving up, it's about things remaining the same (or worse) even after trying, so what else should be tried?
