Threads is blocking links to purportedly leaked documents about vice presidential candidate JD Vance. Elon Musk's X blocked links earlier this week.
Threads is following X's lead, blocking links to purportedly leaked documents about vice presidential candidate JD Vance.
Meta says the links could come from hacked or leaked sources — and it's blocking them because of the potential connection. The FBI and other intelligence agencies last month warned that Iran-backed hackers had sought to access information from the Trump campaign.
Purportedly hacked documents have been floating around various media outlets ever since, and while the existence of these documents has been reported, almost all outlets have refused to publish the details due to the potentially illicit way they were obtained.
Interesting how documents from democratic campaigns are fair game. Even dick pics of the president's son are fair game. But when it comes to Republicans Suddenly It's all off limits. Strange.
In a rational world? Perhaps. But if this were a rational world and that were actually the reason. They would have done it after the Clinton campaign leaked documents. Or 30 times before that. So I highly suspect that isn't the case. It's that it's impacting the people they want to win personally. Therefore it must be censored. And for all the many faults Democrats have. They're not being hypocritical on this point at least. The Biden campaign was contacted with this information previously but didn't publish it or run with it. Not like any Republican or specifically Trump officials would have.
They have a rule in the House specifically to prevent anyone out talking disparagingly about the Cheeto Mussolini. Well former Presidents I believe, but the point stands.
It's about one of the most disliked VP candidates in US history, a dude that wears eyeliner (I guess), doesn't know how many eggs are in a dozen, and is almost as bland as the last tRump VP pick! You don't even need to read a couple sentences to know that!! ( ˘ ³˘)
The noteworthy items in that dossier make me wonder what kind of decisions they made while picking Vance. I initially assumed it was because he was a project 2025 groupie, but given that the dossier highlighted his anti-Ukraine stance, maybe project 2025 was just a nussance worth putting up with.
If only it were that interesting. It's literally all the things we already knew about Vance that made him a liability even though Trump picked him anyway.
Has it ever been confirmed that he only identifies as being attracted to leather couches? I was of the impression he didn’t have a particular type, but I could be wrong.
Threads doesn't really have a track record when it comes to things like this, so I don't blame them for enforcing their terms and conditions. The difference here is that Twitter has allowed such things to be posted time and time again but won't allow it in this specific case. It's selective enforcement.
