Google falling short of important climate target, cites electricity needs of AI

"You guys don't understand, we need to destroy the planet so we can make money!"

Literally the entire point of targets is to make you implement changes you would not otherwise make. If you aren't willing to do that, don't set those targets.

And worse it feels like the parts of AI that they devote most of these resources to are the type that will only bring profit via hype but is probably a dead end.

Falls short of climate targets for an AI that everybody rightfully shits on and is terrible. Just turn that shit off bro. Nobody needs it

Well, at least it isn't as frightening as I thought. Artists won't be able to be replaced if AI runs out of power.
