- By watching the films in this order, you not only avoid spoilers entirely, but also maintain the original narrative's focus. Essentially you follow Luke on his coming of age story up until he loses his hand to Vader on Cloud City and finds out that he is his father, before going on an extended two-film flashback where we see how Anakin became Vader and conceived Luke, before then snapping back to the present for the finale.
Ain't nothing wrong with release order, IMO. The differences in cinematography, direction, special effects, ect. become distracting when the trilogies are broken up like that.
To really enhance the cultural zeitgeist of the early 2000s, the prequel trilogy should be experienced with a set of Taco Bell promotional cups and contest pieces from eBay. Alternatively, one could purchase a Pepsi from one of the surviving Phantom Menace vending machines.
But then we can't see anyone cast summon greater fish! Best part of the trilogy

- CG was still very primitive in bronze age Greece.
Very few stories begin at the beginning of time.
Even fewer have to retcon the romantic tension of the first episode because that was all they wrote or thought out.
Even the movie being en media res is a retcon.
A New Hope was not called “Episode 4” until its re-release in 1981. Before then it was released and packaged as a stand alone story.
