As a foreign famous activist she probably has a "good" treatment for a detainee. Imagine what the Gazan child hostages go through in Israeli prisons (spoiler: reported electrical shock torture and sexual crimes)

Do you have any evidence to support that or are you just using conjecture? I don't have a dog in the fight, but you're literally making shit up out of thin air. Given how persistent bed bugs are I would imagine they are a significant problem in any prison in the world. Keeping bed bugs out is probably like trying to keep a cold/flu/covid out of any concentrated living facility (prison, nursing home, welfare home, or homeless shelter).
If hotels struggle to prevent bed bugs then you can be assured that prisons will too. If you're gonna peacefully protest with the knowledge that you will be detained then you should also know that you're gonna deal with jail/prison conditions which include bed bugs.

- The worst thing Israel could have done to discredit Greta Thunberg and damage her brand would have been to give her a nice meal, a warm bed in a nice hotel, gently push her onboard the next 1st class flight back to Stockholm the next day and release a statement telling her to go play SJW somewhere else. Since Greta waived her right to immediate deportation and chose to remain in detention, I'm not sure what you are expecting the Swedes to do.

  At the very least, under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, Swedish diplomats have the right to visit Thunberg, verify her condition, and ensure she’s being treated according to international standards. Continuing to monitor the situation like this makes sure that Thunberg is not feeling isolated and makes sure her captors do not get any (further) funny ideas.
  For another, there are all sorts of pressure tactics they can use, if her welfare is danger. They could summon the Israeli ambassador to formally express concern, they can push the European Commission and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs to issue a joint statement or demand investigation into her treatment.

Am I wrong in saying they're (seemingly) quantifiably worse than every other "terrorist" country in the region? I know plenty have human rights issues, but I can't imagine anyone is competitive on sheer quantity of murder and atrocities!?

You can usually tell at a glance if an article will be critical or supportive of a certain person, based on the photo they choose to go alongside the headline.
General rule of thumb, if you want someone to look composed, use a photo with their mouth closed. If you want them to look dumb, choose a photo with their mouth open mid-speech. It’s not a universal thing, but still images of people mid-word don’t tend to be flattering.

They will be treated kinda badly in order to encourage them to not get on the next set of boats coming down, then they will be released.
Some will rejoin the next flotilla will which will hopefully be a hundred boats or more and maybe some of the countries will provide naval cover to stop the drones from attacking them on the seas.
