Judge flags Facebook post claiming inside access to Trump verdict
  • I don't get it? What is the news here. Someone made a random post on Facebook? Surely a million others also posted with blind certainty that he was going to be convicted, just as a few other millioka must have posted he wouldn't. What makes this instance different? Is this the glitch to get out of jail free? Just rob a bank and ask your cousins to make a post saying he know you'll be convicted!

  • The LLM training gigs exist but they are way unreliable; you're a contractor with 0 guarantee of work, and when there is work it's a lump of tasks that get assigned on a first come, first serve basis. You weren't awake and monitoring your email at 3pm? Well you might have just lost your chance to work that week because it will be taken by other by the time you wake up.

Do it for extra income, but be aware many are being exploited to train those models.

  • I was going to comment the same. I'd add that that it's also important to remember that (as opposed to physical diagnosis) mental health diagnoses are descriptive, rather than predictive.

You can think of a mental health diagnosis like a bucket, where we put different symptoms that often occur together (but rarely all the same time) and then label the bucket, as in "depression". Then we try to figure out why there seems to be this relationship of symptoms, where they are coming from, and how to make it better; with part of the object of study being intangible.

With physical medicine, you can follow a tangible path from the symptom to the cause. If you have symptoms of Covid, you can test for the specific virus. And then "predict" what's going to happen and what to do about it.
