Texas attorney general says he will sue doctor who gives abortion to Kate Cox
  • All for a non-viable fetus. Not that it should matter, she should have the right to choose either way, but it makes this particularly insane.

  • What game do you play to just chill?
  • This is also my go to for some chill gaming!

  • We believe PDD is a Dying Fraudulent Company and its Shopping App TEMU is Cleverly Hidden Spyware that Poses an Urgent Security Threat to U.S. National Interests
  • Can't say this is surprising. I remember when TEMU ads started coming out en masse. Their "shop like a billionaire" catchphrase for buying cheap ripped-off crap gave off red flags and latestagecapitalism vibes. It's frustrating to see how many people fell for the marketing and have actually downloaded and used this app.

  • She's been getting softer lately.
  • She's so cute! Although she has those crazy eyes lol

  • Look guys! There's a Lemmy version of r/place happening!
  • Love to see the Skyrim logo in there. That's the one I worked on back on the original Place!

  • I miss StumbleUpon
  • Same! It's what led me to find Reddit a long time ago.

  • How many fediverse websites are there?
  • The Fediverse is essentially a collection of platforms (such as Lemmy, Mastodon, Pixelfed, and more). Each platform has a number of instances that are hosted separately, hence the decentralized nature of the Fediverse. For example, Lemmy is a platform, and Lemmy instances include Lemmy.world, Lemmy.ml, kbin.social, sh.itjust.works, and more. Others have posted links to lists of instances that you can look through.

  • What did everyone read in June?
  • Swan Light by Phoebe Rowe - I really enjoyed this book telling two connected stories that occurred 100 years apart in parallel, centering around a lighthouse in Newfoundland that collapsed into the ocean and the search to find it.

The Weight of Air by David Poses - Autobiographical book advocating for harm reduction approaches in treating addiction. I was sad to see that the author passed away last year, it's clear that his book has helped a lot of people.

  • Happy Canada Day!
  • Thank you for your perspective. This day is still celebratory to me but it definitely invites more reflection and awareness than ever before. I hope fellow Canadians are also pausing today to reflect on our past, both good and bad, and the values we want to hold as we move forward.

  • Some great reminders from Dani Donovan
  • Thank you for this! I remember when I first saw rejection sensitivity as an actual symptom of ADHD, it was definitely an aha moment for me. It put words to something I had experienced my whole life.

Took a peek on Reddit, it really boggles my mind how oblivious and obedient people are.
  • It's funny reading posts that say something along the lines of "I've always used the reddit app and it's fine, I didn't even know there were third-party apps". I get this might be astroturfing or bots but if not, congrats on not having a clue, I guess.

  • Reddit: Don't like us anymore? Pay us $50/year!
  • Who the fuck cares about avatar gear and app icons?!

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • I've been on reddit since 2011, now here I am. I'll keep using my third-party reddit app until I can't anymore, maybe occasionally old reddit (until they shut that down too, most likely). I would have been entirely willing to pay a reasonable amount per month or year to access the reddit API in a third-party app, but alas. Sad to see greed ruining good things, as it does, although I am enjoying seeing the resulting backlash and shitshow over there lol
