Tom Cruise honoured with US Navy's highest civilian award
The Top Gun star is being celebrated for spiking military recruitment with his screen roles.

Tom Cruise has been awarded the US Navy's highest civilian honour for "outstanding contributions" to the military with his screen roles.
He probably thought he was being honored by the Sea Org.

15 0 ReplyYou get the Navy’s “highest civilian honor” for being in movies? TIL
11 0 ReplyNot that I would give him the award, but Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun has probably done more to get people to join the navy than any recruitment office could ever hope for.
15 0 ReplyYou get the highest civilian honor for pumping out propaganda and driving recruitment.

So no shade (despite the fact that I don’t like Tom Cruise) but he looks 15 years older here than he did during the filming of Maverick
9 0 ReplyApparently he hasn't cleared his body of Thetans in a while.
7 0 ReplyYeah, he looks closer to a man his age.

As a common point of confusion, Tom Cruise was surprised to receive a call from the Navy instead of the Air Force.
