RDA hated Sci Fi before Stargate. They tricked him by telling him it was a mostly Military-themed movie and show
- Not entirely false. I stopped rewatching Stargate because I got tired of hearing guns being fired in nearly every episode.
  In Star Trek they usually have phasers unless they are time travelling. Pretty much the same for other sci-fi shows; they are usually energy based weapons.
  But in Stargate, they convince Teal'c to use P90s and a good chunk of some episodes is just Tau'ri/humans firing guns at aliens.
