I’ve seen that movie when I’m doing well and it just felt okay. Hit a rough spot and watched and it totally resonated with me. One of my favorite Jake Gyllenhaal roles.
That’s why I always liked approaches that use a physical machine that has to stay in one place for an extended period of time. Quantum Break’s hard sci-fi approach to this was fascinating and kept making me reconsider how the time loop worked. Highly recommended for time loop nerds like me.
It’s weird. I’m the opposite. I would run my finger back and forth on them to the point of wearing down my fingernail to make the zippy nose.
I’ve definitely had the internal thoughts “leak” like you’re describing. I tend to think in almost another space outside of myself where sometimes I will forget my senses and have to actively return to them. Like I’m walking away briefly from the drivers seat to go take care of something in the back of the truck. I tend not to do this with others around as it can be rude. With others, I’m much more stream of consciousness.
This was pretty much the point Agent Smith was making to Morpheus in his ‘virus’ speech.
I have to imagine there’s a meme or comic of Bella being all super excited ready to bang becoming disappointed once he transforms back into a human, but I wouldn’t know how to search for it without having to sift through piles of rule 34 to find one. I’m not brave enough.
But in the Disney movie which the picture is referencing, it’s not a forced marriage, which is the version I think most people think of.
To me, the original tales all felt like the Murphy’s Law of storytelling. While they are the originals and are much more mature material, I honestly feel the vast majority of Disney adaptations (I’m talking classic 2d series run) are better at teaching the lessons to a modern audience than the original stories. Times change and art often reflects this.
Sadly, the pendulum has swung too far the other way and we’re remaking material in a span of time that the lessons haven’t changed all that much. That’s why you can go back to pretty much all eras of film and get valuable lessons from it because the lessons all still apply. It’s just that much of a new medium.
Someone’s ears are ringing…
That’s like, the moral of the whole movie is that she didn’t judge him for his appearance and wasn’t expecting a prince. I figured this was well known.
I remember how blown away I was by Motorsport 5 on the XBONE demo console in the store. The trigger response alone made me want to take a whole console home just for that. I really wish I could play that one properly on modern hardware.
This is some of the stupidest shit I hear on a regular basis. All my childhood, we were taught the phrase ‘checks and balances’ and then you come across shit like this. No one thought about any one of the UN powers becoming a problem? Does no one plan for these systems designed to prevent abuse to be… abused? “Sorry. Can’t tell them to stop the genocide. Go ask your mother.” Complete enabling bullshit.
I’ve started treating it as the last tool I reach for in my toolbox. When it first came out, I was all for it, but then people started taking a picture of a plant and expecting it to reliably identify them, then asking it for nutrition advice, then asking it about weather and the news.
It’s useful for a small subset of people for some of the time, but the vast majority, it just makes things more difficult.
My case is all black, but almost everything these days ships with RGB if it’s a modern gaming part. I set them to the lowest brightness at a dark purple so it barely shows. Anything more than that is too distracting for me.
I’ll have to upload it here when I get back into work on Tuesday, but I wrote a PDF guide for the most common Windows and Mac shortcuts that I consider to be the essentials.
In a perfect world, we never leave our cars. We are just eternally with our friends and family on our racing living rooms. Passing cars deliver your amenities and you simply relieve yourself out the window. The future of a road-only world awaits!
Yay! Cencorship! I spent an extra 3 seconds focusing on the word psychopath trying to figure out what went wrong instead of reading it like a normal word. Isn’t that so much better than offending an algorithm with the letter ‘h’?
Now I kind of want to see just how broken my install gets if I just have ChatGPT guide me through the whole installation.
…in a forest when they come across an old abandoned barn. They quickly run inside, with maybe seconds to spare before their pursuers catch up to the group.
Thinking quickly on their feet, one of them hops in an old potato sack. “Follow my lead!” The other two immediately grab their own bags and hide.
Moments later, the cops burst through the doors and begin looking for clues. One of them sees the pile of potato sacks and motions for one of the other officers. “I think I’ve got something.”
He kicks the first bag.
> WOOF WOOF
“Oh. Weird. Just a dog.” They see another bag nearby and kick it as well.
> REEEER
“Nah. Just a cat.”
They come across the final bag, about to give up and move on with their search, when they give it one last kick.
> POTATOES

I put together an article of my first-hand account of what it was like to see a Formula 1 event, plus some of my proudest pictures.

I’ve been told my style reassembles video game music. Let me know your thoughts!
I have to reject any that don’t make the cut.
Everyone knows all the classic stuff you hear in karaoke bars, but I always enjoy artists that can make lyrics that you love singing along to.
I’m not necessarily talking about the best lyrics or the most thoughtful, but the ones that you love belting out with confidence even when a friend is in the car. Think Bohemian Rhapsody scene from Wayne’s World.
I’m curious if there are some lesser-known artists that are just as fun to sing along to, but never got their time on the radio.

This is only my test picture. I’ll be posting a full album from my DSLR later next week.
It is insane just how big these events are and how surprisingly well organized everything has been. Really impressed overall with how alive everything has been.
I had earplugs plus noise canceling headphones on and the engines were still clear as day. Absolutely insane how fast they go. GA is sat right around the sphere and it’s a pretty heavy breaking zone. Even then, trying to track the cars for a good shot proved really challenging. Definitely pushed my skills.
And totally unrelated, but I also learned OneRepublic is responsible for like 90% of the modern pop radio that I hate. So that was fun to sit through…
I’ll be going to see the Las Vegas GP. I’ve never been to a Formula 1 race and don’t know what to expect from the days surrounding the race. Are there any tips you wish you knew before going the first time? I plan on going to the full race weekend and not sure what to bring to make my stay more comfortable. Also, any tips on stops I should make in that area of Vegas while I’m there?
