How mice look after eating yogurt:
I think of CDDA as mostly Dwarf Fortress with vehicles. Just as complex in the combat, but not as complex in world gen or with civilizations (because zombies who cares lol), but the vehicle building and sim is as far as I would expect DF to have, if it had vehicles.
I once made a giant mobile fortress that could just drive straight through most anything that wasn't made of metal.
Where's the rest of his clothing?
The real dead obi wan minifig would be taking the head and hands off. Maybe disconnecting the legs from the torso so it makes a nicer pile.
The first one is hilarious because you've been able to change your gender at will in the Souls games since the very first Dark Souls. DS1 you use a ring. DS2 you use a coffin. DS3 and everything after you just use the respec system and alter appearance.
"THE NATURE OF YOUR BEING HAS CHANGED."
Though it is weird hearing the dialogue use pronouns for every character but yours. You're still trying to be the Lord of Cinder or the Elden Lord even if you're a lady, but they will say Lady Rennala. Go figure. đ¤ˇđģââī¸
Unless they develop Alzheimer's or something else that fucks with their memory. đ¤ˇđģââī¸
I think about this all the time and I still have no idea.
A good chunk of that money would end up going to experts to advise me how best to use it since I would want to maximize what good I could bring... đŠ
I don't even get what the reasoning for not having gays in the military is. That they'll be too busy making out to fight? Nonsense! The Spartans (iirc) encouraged homosexual relationships because you're much more likely to fight harder to protect your lover who is fighting right beside you.
After my experience getting assaulted and having two of my ribs broken by someone I knew, with witnesses and video of it? Fucking never. They didn't do shit.
I do also hate the dog whistle shit. You know how I end up learning what dog whistles exist? Because I say something with innocent intent that some fucking neonazis co-opted without my knowledge and get assblasted for it because I tend not to hang around bigots to know their stupid lingo. đ
Ignorant I may be; but the only hate I have is for hatemongers.
I need to go outside... I read that as "get ratio'd."
Look at my profile and check my comment count. đ

Post August 8th, 2006: Dwarf Fortress.
Dwarf Fortress is, mechanically, almost everything I think a game should be. And the only reason it's only almost is because it's not finished yet.
Isn't there aome kind of openC&C thing that basically remasters it, adds better modding support and modernizes the controls, similar to OpenTTD? đ¤
I swear I fucked around with something like that a while back because I wanted to get down on some Tiberian Sun but I couldn't even get my discs to install on Windows 10.
I remember a blue Pepsi that was hella fucking good back when I was in high school. I miss that. It was a pretty sour berry flavor; might have been blue raspberry but it was also pretty unique and one of the sweetest, yet still tolerable, sodas I've ever tried.
I also miss Dr. Slice. It wasn't a Dr. Pepper knock off; it was an official mix of Dr. Pepper and Slice. Not sure if it was orange slice, but it was better than regular Dr. Pepper and I only ever saw it at one random ass restaurant in the small town I had lived in most of my life.
Why would I pay to smell like stale beer, cigarette smoke, peanut shells and desperation? I can just stop taking showers if I wanted that.
I don't have a problem with perfectionism IRL.
But the minute it's a video game? I must be perfect and I also dramatically shift to Machiavellian thinking. Everything in the game is specifically for my benefit. Every item belongs to me. And if killing an NPC will give me more power, that dude is dead.
You just kinda freestyle it. Jump in and out when you want. Just match the beat of the song. More complicated, practiced dances are usually only seen at an entertainment venue. A dance off/dance competition, a ballet, etc. The middle ground might be weddings. People dance at those, and it's not just freestyling to a beat because it's a party. A fancy wedding might do a waltz or someshit. But not tap dancing.
What even does the second rule mean? Tit for tat, but also forgive (with a quantifier for how much forgiveness)? Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

This song feels fitting, given certain things going on right now.
I meticulously make roads and keep bed rooms nearby to the work the colonist is supposed to be doing, but I am still noticing that, without extra Common Sense, PUAH or Haul+ tasks being appended to their current action, they tend to take the longest possible route to reach their destinations. Like, I have a kitchen right in the center of my entire compound, with shelves and fridges to store the food in everyone's bedroom. He finished making a meal and was taking it to a building like 16 tiles away to the left. Instead of just going directly there, the dumbass goes right, out the walls (despite being assigned to a zone that doesn't allow them to leave the safety of said walls), around the entire perimeter of the compound, enters back in from the south and then proceeds up the 400 tiles or so back to the room that was super close to where he started. đŦ
Is there, like, a mod that allows me to set pathing priorities like you can in Dwarf Fortress, or do I just need to give them brain implants that make them not so stupid?
We kinda know what happens if you get sucked into a black hole because of math (spaghettification, what outside observers would see, etc); can the same be said about worm holes? Would you even notice if you passed through one? What would they look like? What would someone watching someone else go through a wormhole look like?
My ex-wife has been trying to contact me for a few weeks while I've been ignoring her because I assumed it was just more bullshit like always. But she managed to get in contact with my dad and the reason she has been trying to get a hold of me is because she apparently tested positive for syphilis and has had it for several years. So now I have to go get checked myself... Fucking A, man... I'm allergic to penicillins and I know that's the treatment if I end up having it. Not even in my life anymore and she still manages to cause me stress.
These guys are new to me since the last time I played, so IDK what's up. I have a dead one just chilling in my freezer and nobody will do anything with it. It's not counting as a corpse? When trying to force it at the butcher or creamtorium, it says no corpse available; but they did stick him in the corpse pile.
I am using the Alien Races and Anthro Race mods, which might be fucking things up, but this is a default race, and even with the xeno ideology additions, my colony is set to not GAF about eating people (human or alien); not to mention they'd burn or bury it anyway, just because it's a corpse that isn't one of us. Not sure how to dispose of this fuzzbutt and stop the negative thoughts upon seeing him while grabbing some chow.
Edit: He weighs too much! IDK how the hell they carried him to the freezer in the first place though... He weighs 60kg, and the maximum anyone can carry is 34kg. :/
Edit 2: Even though I had already tried this, setting my crematorium to allow everything then forcing them to cremate bodies worked just now. Doing the same thing with the butcher table didn't, and I had already tried this last night with both before I made the post and it wasn't working... Ugh... đŽâđ¨
Two reasons, actually.

It's not their preferred preparation. All the replicated food is based on a pattern from an original recipe. It's not adding flair or anything, it's literally a copy of a dish made who knows how long ago. And that's where the next reason comes from:
-
Imagine eating some spicy pepper dish from, like, the 1940's vs the same dish made today with spicer peppers. It wouldn't be as spicy eating something that wasn't, at the time, really selectively bred to be more spicy. If the recipe for the replicator is, like, hundreds of years old it would probably not be as potent as the same dish made with real ingredients.
I can imagine that the characters that have expressed disdain for replicated food probably get hit by both of these. It's not the way they would preferred it to be made, and it's also like eating vegetable jello salad in 2024.
Would it be possible to have that added as a method of sorting posts on Lemmy? Instead of including votes, or just the most recent comments, "Active" and "Hot" could also include simply what's being looked at even if nobody is actually interacting with it in any other way. Actually kinda baffled why this is already a thing on SM.
Also I wasn't sure where to really post this, which is why it's here.
I've never had a work of fiction affect me so and I don't know what to do other than talk about it. I keep making myself cry wishing it all was real and I was there on Adastra or Khemia with Amicus and Neferu.
I've certainly felt a fondness for characters and wanted to be transported to fictional worlds before but... Not like this. Not this badly. And it's not even the visuals that drew me to any of the characters; I've seen their images a lot before ever playing the game and didn't have the same pull toward them as I do now, knowing their personalities.
This is so fucked up and stupid and I feel dumb for even admitting how it's making me feel, but I just have to because otherwise I'm going to overflow. đ
I finished Adastra and I just want to die because I can't do anything new with Amicus. đ
I got on my PC today and noticed that yiffit, my homepage, won't log me in and just keeps giving this red banner popup in the left corner that says "error incorrect_login."
I know it's not my login/password combo; I am able to use Jerboa and Firefox on my phone to log in and do stuff (that's how I am writing this post!) but on my computer it won't let me in! Cleared the history, cache, saved info, etc and it just keeps giving me this damn error even when I try to open the login page to make sure it's trying the right info.
The main page itself just gives me the standard "server issue" error that I assume is Lemmy's default error page when it can't reach the server. But again, I am only getting this problem on my PC; my other devices allow me to browse and post just fine, so I have no idea what the heck is going on here. Is it my end or the server?
Personally, I don't* but I was curious what others think.
*some sandwiches excluded like a Cubano or chicken parm; those do require cooking.
I'm half-way through Sedna right now. I have just 1 Warframe (though I did start building Limbo last night when I remembered I did that quest) and it, a long with my best weapons, are maxed out and either at mod capacity or damn near (still need endo for a few). MR5.
I have a railjack, I unlocked the Operator, and I have so many resources and credits. But everything is starting to take forever to kill and hurts me so much. When I did the whole Drifter quest thing, I choose everything I already used but it was so much stronger. The Warframe had way more shield and health even though I have Redirection and Vitality maxed out on it. The Boltor had a super high ROF compared to what mine has and did way more damage.
How the hell do I get that kind of power on my normal stuff? I know about Forma but I haven't even seen some of the mods for the weapons I have I've seen suggested for maximum damage, so I'm just hanging onto those until it makes sense to use them. Is that really the only way to get stronger?
I'm not sure if this is a Lemmy issue, an instance issue or a Jerboa issue but occasionally when I hit the button to reply specifically to the main post and make a top-level comment, it instead replies to one of the already existing top level comments.
I don't know how long this has been happening; I only just now noticed it wasn't me accidentally clicking the wrong reply button when it happened twice in a row and I was making absolute sure I hit the right button the second time.
Dropout, please. I could be the center square.
I have 1 last achievement to get and it didn't seem like it would be that hard since I already got S rank without even trying on all the high payout missions when I was grinding cash for all the parts.
However, a few seem to be completely arbitrary and not simply about speed and efficiency. Or maybe I am just not fast enough? I have to actually use a stop watch because the game doesn't actually tell you the mission time...
Anyway I have literally 2 left that I can't get above A rank on and I don't know why.
First is Stop The Data Breach. I zip through the level as fast as I can destroying the hacking nodes, and even take out the tetrapod in the hallway while waiting for the dialogue to continue and give me access to the last door leading to Iguazu. I know from watching a video of someone getting S rank that the damage and ammo costs I end up with are good (even lower) so it's gotta be the time it takes to do the final fight. But that dumbass Iguazu heals like 4 times every time he's down to nothing which makes it take way longer than it should. I can kill him faster but that would cost more in the ammo cost, assuming it even hits because the weapons that would allow near instant death are also super slow and he constantly dodged all over the place.
The other is Destroy the Refuelling base. I've zipped straight to the main objective and killed the ACs at the end in under 2 minutes and got A rank. I've gone and blown up all the fuel dumps then the main objective and killed the ACs in just a few seconds more; still A. The fuck does it expect me to do? Finish in 30 seconds? I can use the fastest possible mech build and it still takes like a minute just to reach the objective going in as straight a line to it as you can.
The lack of clear objectives listed for these arbitrary requirements is driving me crazy. I've looked for answers online, of course, but every answer is different. Some people got S rank doing this, others got it doing something else. Neither method worked for me, so it just feels like random.
Playing Ghost of Tsushima and just trying to get the best settings for my machine and was suggested to use high preset with resolution scaling off and frame Gen on.
It certainly makes the FPS counter say it's 60fps now when it would constantly dip to 40, but it doesn't feel or look smooth at all. I can get 60fps without frame Gen in much of the game, and turning it off in those areas looks smoother and feels nicer.
I've never used frame generation in anything else before so I don't know if this is normal or what's going on. Would it feel better if I uncapped the frame rate and turned off vsync?
What if wishing on a shooting star actually grants wishes and the only reason it's commonly believed to be superstition is because nobody has actually seen a shooting star we've only seen crashing rocks? đ¤
