European car safety body is coming for touchscreens. The European New Car Assessment Programme mandates that key controls need physical buttons or switches
  • All of the functions described in the article are already on physical buttons and stalks in the Polestar 2 (I have one), so not sure how this is going to change anything? I'll agree that some of its error reporting and collision avoidance in particular are almost dangerous in their implementation, but that has no bearing on the physical buttons thing.

  • Despite the bad press, half of America is still considering an EV or hybrid car — they just want them to be cheaper
  • I have an EV, it has physical controls on stalks in the same place as a regular car for the indicators, windscreen wipers, lights, etc. You only need to use the tablet for climate controls and nav/music - all of which can be voice activated.

  • Ayaneo next handheld is going to use SteamOS
  • it is still an inferior experience to Windows for anybody that isn’t incredibly tech savvy and the kind of person that lives and breathes command lines.

Since when do you have to live and breathe command lines to use SteamOS?

But then again, what did I expect from an industry where people are genuinely paid to talk out of their butts about games.

Yeah, there's only one person talking out of their butt here.

But there has been the occasional ‘Steam Deck Verified’ game like Cthulhu Saves The World which soft locks on a black screen after battles.

Oh well, I guess if you have a problem with one verified game then we should all write off the entire platform then.
