  • someone hurt in the place that is highest, when plucking strawberries.

Ok, I've reread this like a hundred times, but I don't get it. What does this mean LMAO

  • I don't mind the normal cross post, but this half automated reposting

FYI, it's not automated, the most automation I use is notifications. Everything else is done completely manually. And crossposting is easy, a notification comes in and I can take care of it in most cases right away wherever I'm at because, ya know, smartphones LOL it just takes me a few minutes lmao

Also, you're slinging insults at or about mods, comms, admins and whole instances that have nothing to do with it so maybe that's where they're coming from on that lol

  • I mean yea, if you want to contribute to an instance whose main admin holds these beliefs, I cant stop you. But sure, I'll cross-post it for you 👍

For the link thing, there is a link. It's available in the dedicated cross-post section under each post (in the default UI) or in the dedicated menu for apps

As far as why I don't also post it in the body, here's a previous reply I made:

Nah, for one, that "cross-posted from" thing is dumb AF when there's a dedicated UI button/link that automatically shows when a link is detected elsewhere on the Lemmy-verse.

That's how you end up with cluttered posts like:

    Cross-posted from:

    Crossposted from:

    Crossposted from:

For two, I'm cross-posting content from .ml comms to the nearest non-.ml comm as part of ongoing boycotting efforts to reduce .ml's influence to make defederation an easier decision for admins everywhere because of the .ml admins insistence to push their Tankie ideology through various means from censorship of views critical of Authoritarian regimes such as Russia or China to allowing propaganda outlets (such as RT) to flourish

Adding a low-friction link like that runs counter to that.

  • Cross-posted as part of ongoing boycotting/protest efforts to reduce the influence of .ml comms because of the behavior of the .ml instance admins to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate

    Some highlights from the link:

"Don't worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167

"See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn't count!!" ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342

    Nutomics continued transphobia https://lemmy.world/post/29222558

  • Just the search in history? Bruh, the entire YT history feature has been the single most unreliable piece of regurgitated Satan hell hound dog shit I've ever had the pleasure of using

  • Thanks, I missed the above reply, this was a crosspost, so I've broken that crosspost to change the link to something not plagiarized

  • You can make assumptions if you'd like, but I was ramping up posting well before I took up this fight. I was ramping up towards the tail end of Reddit before the whole API debacle even. And I've always been a fairly heavy commenter. And actually Lemmy does have a way of making me want to post and not just comment.

So no, I won't be disappearing, if you really care to know. I've got other non-Tankie related plans in the works to further the Lemmy-verse based on my own goals and desires like even spinning up my own public instance.

Tl;Dr, you're stuck with me for the long haul, Tankies or no.

  • Probably pivot my time and effort into general promotion of the Lemmy-verse. Kinda hard these days when, inevitably, someone is going to come in and ask "Isn't that the place that's full of tankies?"

At least if defederation is achieved against the whole triad I can say, "Yea they're there, but most instances have disconnected from their instances, so you won't see their BS unless you specifically want to"

  • This helps weed out people who won’t fall for it (and wastes the scammers time)

    Kitboga has entered the chat

  • Only when they're being queried, when idle it consumes memory to keep them running to be ready to answer a query, but thats about it

  • Those aren't modules in of themselves, more like plugin frameworks for hooking into the Android kernel/deep system functions that others can write plugins for.

LSposed can do more "cool stuff" but it's also a much bigger pain to keep it hidden from root detectors. I occasionally use an app called Card Emulator Pro that allows me to duplicate and then emulate any NFC card I tap to it that needs an LSposed module to work

Magisk Modules, can do less but is much easier to keep root hidden, most of my MM are for hiding root (like playcurl) but I particularly like isodrive for being able to use my phone to store and use bootable ISO images

  • As someone who used to change ROMs and kernels almost weekly back in the day (when I had more time lmao), honestly, not really.

Stock android already provides so much these days that used to take a custom ROM to obtain. And what isn't, can be provided via a LSposed module or Magisk Module, which is MUCH easier to handle than a full tilt custom ROM

There's, one, exception though. If you want a custom ROM for a specific purpose then there might still be some utility there. Like GrapheneOS for privacy focus
