Breaking: Pro-Palestinian march across Sydney Harbour Bridge allowed to go ahead

  • Wait, that's for actual good news‽

LMAO someone should let them know that when Farnsworth says "Good news everyone" it's actually bad news (occasionally) dressed up to sound like good news 😂

  • That's not really an excuse to half ass it, there's lots of things a rouge instance could do and that's one of many reasons defederation is a thing

  • Even on an individual level, like what is the point of blocking someone if they can still fully interact with your posts and comments, just you can't see it.

That's a mute, when Xitter tried (or did? Idr) to downgrade their actual block to essentially the same thing that Lemmy has now it was met with outrage.

Proper blocking should be a core feature of any social media, it's not a 'nice to have' feature that can be developed when there's time for it

  • Haha good one!

Rushes to hide my 600+ open tabs

  • Don't give them any ideas sad lol

  • They said evacuate out of Israel, but didn't mention where to lol

  • Waitagoddangmin

    Something's not right here.....

  • Too bad block doesn't mean block to the devs LMAO

  • Too bad I won't be able to get it unless T-Mobile carries it, and they never carry the cool phones (Anymore) :(

  • Not to you personally, the .ml instance as a whole, you're taking things way to personally and stirring up your own drama. Just block me and you'll never see one of these posts again. Good bye.

  • Cross-posted as part of ongoing boycotting/protest efforts to reduce the influence of .ml comms because of the behavior of the .ml instance admins to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate

    Some highlights from the link:

"Don't worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167

"See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn't count!!" ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342

    :::

I attributed you in such a way that you would not have received a "mention" notification. You monitored this comm for posts and brought yourself here.

  • someone hurt in the place that is highest, when plucking strawberries.

Ok, I've reread this like a hundred times, but I don't get it. What does this mean LMAO

  • I don't mind the normal cross post, but this half automated reposting

FYI, it's not automated, the most automation I use is notifications. Everything else is done completely manually. And crossposting is easy, a notification comes in and I can take care of it in most cases right away wherever I'm at because, ya know, smartphones LOL it just takes me a few minutes lmao

Also, you're slinging insults at or about mods, comms, admins and whole instances that have nothing to do with it so maybe that's where they're coming from on that lol

  • I mean yea, if you want to contribute to an instance whose main admin holds these beliefs, I cant stop you. But sure, I'll cross-post it for you 👍

For the link thing, there is a link. It's available in the dedicated cross-post section under each post (in the default UI) or in the dedicated menu for apps

As far as why I don't also post it in the body, here's a previous reply I made:

Nah, for one, that "cross-posted from" thing is dumb AF when there's a dedicated UI button/link that automatically shows when a link is detected elsewhere on the Lemmy-verse.

That's how you end up with cluttered posts like:

    Cross-posted from:

    Crossposted from:

    Crossposted from:

For two, I'm cross-posting content from .ml comms to the nearest non-.ml comm as part of ongoing boycotting efforts to reduce .ml's influence to make defederation an easier decision for admins everywhere because of the .ml admins insistence to push their Tankie ideology through various means from censorship of views critical of Authoritarian regimes such as Russia or China to allowing propaganda outlets (such as RT) to flourish

Adding a low-friction link like that runs counter to that.
