The only thing I can appreciate Elon Musk and Peter Thiel for is their tireless work proving that being too rich causes mental illness.

In these lectures, Thiel doesn’t just flirt with the apocalyptic. He goes all in — openly discussing the Antichrist, naming Pope Leo XIV as a potential manifestation of that figure, and, most disturbingly, advising JD Vance to ignore the pope on moral matters altogether.
So Pope Leo XIV is the antichrist, Trump is a good guy and JD Vance is our savior who like couches and widows?

I always thought the Antichrist would know he was the Antichrist, so maybe Thiel is just pretending it's the Pope to take the heat off of himself.

Behind the bastards did an episode on this where they read a supposed transcript from the first day and it's quite interesting. Also notes on the other days. In short Peter Thiel believes that the Antichrist is anyone who threatens in any way the business and financial interest of Peter Thiel. Also weirdly for a Christian he seems to think we should stop the Antichrist, which I guess will also stop Jesus from coming back but I don't think he's thought it through I don't know.
- Like most Christians, his only information about the anti-christ is from pop culture. Can't expect him to read the WHOLE bible! Have you seen how thick that thing is!?

The fact that everything he's describing as "the Antichrist" also perfectly describes himself, should be obvious to anyone with a shred of self-awareness. It blows my mind how many of these so-called "tech geniuses" are actually just really stupid people with a lot of money to burn.

I'm fairly sure that for at least the past 150 years, at least one either fairly prominent or at least fairly loud Protestant sect or denomination has been claiming the current Pope is the AntiChrist.
- It's a little older than that, friend. Martin Luther himself proclaimed that the pop was the antichrist, and the Vatican was the whore of Babylon.
  
  Absolutely true, I just think that for ~150 years, its been continuous... though that may very well be the case going back much further as well, I'm less well versed in European history than US history.

  That's just something I expect from Christian conservatives, not... whatever kind of conservative Thiel is.
To be fair, there’s always some religious nutter saying one person or another is the antichrist. At this point it struggles to be noteworthy, especially since an increasing number of Americans admit to not being very religious. This isn’t even the first pope somebody has accused of being the antichrist.
