The meme is not wrong, but we leftists have refused to be electorally active and as such have surrendered unconditionally any influence on policy we could have.

It is not about blue no matter who. We should organize to build a progressive party and support it so that we can get candidates we want. Mamdami is an example here. Still if you live in a place were that is not going to happen; then blue no matter who has some reason to it.

We don't participate electorally and we don't help people move to a parallel economy to escape capitalism. We just post smug memes like these and wonder why we are not a serious movement.

Politics and electorialism aren't the same thing. We shouldn't use the masters tools to destroy his house its not possible we need to pursue other avenues.

Tell that to harris and biden. they lost because they thought they can continue to ignore the left and we left them out to dry. its going to take a few cycles of these to correct the problem unfortunately.

- That is a good point and I am not saying anything against it. Still that is why we should build our own progressive party. Particularly to win and/or spoil local and state elections. Blue no matter who should be a last resort. Spoiling is a big deal. We can get concessions on the major parties ticket or possible cabinet positions. My local city could be run by the university student body (the DSA really) if they showed up to those, but they don't.
  We know about the wishes of those who vote third party. We can only speculate on those who could have voted, but didn't. So far the only real third party is the libertarian which seeks to further capitalism and is really just brand aware far right.
  And really I saw this with an even larger focus on the local and state elections which have a bigger sway on our lives anyway and are often uncontested.

And you might not help people, I am certainly out there most weekends helping with the van or at my local community garden.

  Is it stacked against us? Yes. Wasted effort? Sorry you find trying to build policy to help your local community is a waste, or that you cannot be bother to at least slow down harms coming its way.
  Voting for your favorite candidate isn't where things start. It takes a lot to get them on the ballot for a major party and still a lot for them to go third party to create a spoil and concessions. Still most people will not be involved much past casting a ballot. If your movement cannot be bothered to do that; then you are not going to be taken seriously.
  Forgive me as well, but few leftist are doing a community garden and shit posting on the internet. They won't show on elections, so its hard to see them showing up with rifles for the revolution they claim to want too.
  Your defeatist attitude is also quite despicable. Your garden isn't changing how agriculture is done at a mass scale or removing profit motive from foods. Is that a wasted effort? I wouldn't say so.
  All war is class war and elections are just one front in our struggles. A front that we have foolishly surrendered unconditionally. We could have been in a better position today; we could have been pragmatic. but we chose to do nothing.
