My split AC unit cost me 1350€ with installation. 8k USD is ridiculous.
It’s probably for an HVAC system that runs trough the entire building. Not just a unit that cools one room.
"starting at" and the thing in the front is a simple unit that shouldn't cost you more than 2k.
Yeah mine was like 10k but it's for central heating.
My dual head split ac (is that correct? Two indoor units, one outdoor) was 2000 eur with installation.
That price is truly ridiculous, but maybe they'll make a typo in the final invoice in your favour.
Australia?
Nope, USA. The third infuriating thing about this flier.
I think a/c is mostly (entirely?) a north-american naming convention. It's been "aircon" in the other places I've lived in traveled.
I believe the polite way to ask this in their culture is, "Do you come from the land down under?"
My aren't 😔
Is you is or is you ain't my baby?
Yeah, sorry, we made a typo. It's actually $17,999.00.
It’s the er… European spelling. Don’t worry about it :/
That’s embarrassing. I’m not sure who owes them the bigger apology; The printing company or their high school English teacher.
Every now and then, I can't help but wonder
Is I am ready for the season that’s over? No matter where you live, Summer is either over or a season away.
It's even underlined 😭
i dont think that will fit in a pc case
Not with that attitude
That's just how you know it's really trustworthy!
I'm not an AC, mr newspaper.
There's probably a lot of wannabe crypto bros in your area
Hm, not su're yet!
So that's what all that onlinetracking is for.
Starting at 8 grand?? Seems pricey and I live in a place with expensive labour
Summer is ending up here in the Northern hemisphere, so I'm going with this being in New Zealand, which makes it about $4600 US.
An ad in NZ would be in ºC that "75" looks suspiciously ºF.
We'd also more likely call it a "heat pump" rather than "A/C".
Though $8000 does sound about right for South Pacific Pesos.
Also, OP said in another comment that it's US.
Nope, Nevada. One of the other mildly infuriating things about this flier.
Still crazy. Airconditioning is dirt cheap these days - a small bedroom aircon is like 300-400 usd these days.
AC replacements typically run 15-20K for a decent system, install and all. At least last time I had to check.
Then I guess I'm never replacing mine. It's not like HVAC technology has advanced much in the past 100 years, beyond the switch to R-134A from Freon. Most tech advancements are made on the thermostat-end. The system itself is ridiculously simple; usually just 3-4 wires (A/C on/off, Heat on/off, fan on/off, and sometimes a separate power wire).
...and I'm not sure about getting an A/C from someone that can't grammar, either
