This is why I still proudly show off my Jimmy Savile and Gary Glitter tats.
Get that AIDS
VD! Gotta catch 'em all!
This is stupid. "This is the only body you get" is a good point. The point is to think twice, not to not do it.
This is the only body you get. It will inevitably wear out. The worse you treat it the faster it will wear out.
Keep in shape. Eat right. Don't take stupid risks. Listen to your doctor. And modify it to your hearts desire, but analyze your desires.
Someday with fortune you will be old. I've spoken to a lot of old people. The things they say they regret aren't things like tattoos, piercings, or transitioning. They regret not doing those things more often. But they also regret eating poorly and not exercising. They regret the injuries that now cripple them. And they regret not enjoying their time.
Also good to remember the only time you have is right now; get that tattoo or start hrt. Who knows if tomorrow ever comes
your hands are the only hands you get so you better start installing Linux with them
I have installed windows on so many systems it will take me decades to atone with enough linux installs
It’s so easy, you can do it one-handed.
Frees up that other hand for multitasking fun.
Frees up that other hand for multitasking fun.
You mean like installing BSD at the same time?
People who use "your body is a temple" as an argument against tattoos or body modifications have never seen a fucking temple in their lives.
Decoration is sacred, and as such it is important to adorn your mortal home accordingly (ie, however it makes you happy).
Life is messy and beautiful. Imposing drabness onto others is an affront to nature.
I envy people with tattoos. I think when done weil they are cool and beautiful expressions. But I have never had anything I'm willing to have permanently etched on my body. I don't even like the same things I liked last year.
So don't get tattoos of things you like. There's plenty of reasons to get tattoos beyond just "beautiful expression."
I know a guy who got his wife's phone number tattooed on his foot, just in case he ever doesn't have his phone on him.
My brother got "Ouch" on the inside of his lip because it was funny.
My wife has multiple tattoos of bullshit flash because the artist offered to do them for free and she likes the way getting a tattoo feels.
If you want a tattoo, just get a tattoo. If you truly end up hating it down the road, plenty of artists specialize in cover-ups.
A friend suggested to me that I get over this mindset by getting a tattoo. Instead, I've just been talking way too much about getting a tattoo.
Can never find an artist i like that does the thing i want.
That's one of my current excuses. I may get around it by starting off with something stupid simple and small.
This reminds me. Some years ago I was driving down the highway and I found myself behind the most garishly styled car I've seen in my life. I don't recall the exact details now, just that I found it so brightly over decorated that it hurt to look at. "Who would put all that effort into making their vehicle so hideous?" I thought. Then there was a slowdown and everyone had to hit their brakes. Their brake lights, I now saw, were partially masked to say "YOLO!" every time they hit the brakes. "Well, fair enough," I realized. I still hated it, but I had to respect that the car made them happy. You only have one life to live, and if you want to spend part it driving the most ugly car ever bedazzled, well, you do you. I'm happy for you. They'll never know it, but that moment really stuck with me ever since. Don't let others' judgment stop you from doing to your car, or your body, what brings you the most joy.
Well, unless it's a safety hazard to others. Please don't do car mods that risk harm to others.
HRT is permanent but so is the passage of time.
I don't think it is. One can just stop the hormones.
As for the impacts of those hormones...

Breast growth in permanent, testicle and "Decreased Sperm Production/ Reduced Fertility" shrinkage might be permanent.
My guiding principle is "it isn't mine-mine until I customise it."
Do Estrogen recreationally!
