At my school no one took shits because if you did anyone else in the bathroom would laugh and call you out by name if they could figure out who was in the stall "HAHA he's taking a shit in there!" I was so self concious about it until senior year when I stopped caring about it
Yup and my wife is constantly complaining that my son and I won't poop in public. It's a childhood trauma that nobody wants to recognize and prevent. Men's bathrooms should by code be floor to ceiling and private, especially in schools.
Maybe it's a lack of a ventilation system why the doors have gaps? I am from Europe where the gaps are not as excessive as in the US, still they exist and the trauma is real.
I knew very few people in my high schools .... yes high schools, I went to three different schools and in every one I didn't know many people
In my first year of school ... I quickly found out ... you don't take a shit in school ... EVER!
It's basically like prison rules ... if you ever get caught in the bathrooms, you're on your own as officials, teachers and adults are seldom there and you are stuck behind closed doors with other students, most who are older than you. So all you do is pee as fast as possible and leave. You usually wait until times and moments when its quiet and no one is there .... or less likely to be there.
It's nuts because the more I write about it and remember it ... the more I felt like it was more like prison rules or an institution rather than a school for children or teens.
heh... yeah I remember the boy's bathrooms in my HS back in the late 70's early 80's. No doors on the stalls, and the toilet paper rolls were threaded onto chains that looped through holes in the walls that divided the stalls, with the ends locked with a padlock. There were no dividers between the urinals, and in one of the older buildings on campus, the urinals were big long communal troughs...
McDonald's usually has good, reliable bathrooms fyi. That and truck stops (not gas stations, the ones that have big lots for truckers to sleep in overnight). There's also an app whose name I forget like places I can poo where people rate public toilets.
those panels are more cost efficient because you can manufacture and then install them with poorer tolerances. the panels being smaller in general also means they cost less in materials to manufacture. and then, as a bonus, they allow the floor to be cleaned/mopped easier.
This is the reason I can't join a normal gym, I have to pay a high fee for a premium gym membership so that I can use the washroom without gagging or finding some dude jacking off in front of the mirrors in the middle of the night.
