Did some adulting with bank accounts. Not only has the old Bond paid for the new door but there is no need to double count pennies unless we find a Must that has to be ordered Right Now. Utterly astonished.
I used to love going to guitar shops. But I get treated like some kind of fucking exhibit these days. I went to one in Brunswick. I've known the owner for like, 20 years and he's super chill but rarely in store.
Not every musician is a lanky white dude.
I don't complain about racism pretty much ever, but it irks me in this context.
Moved some biggish bits of bluestone yesterday. Feeling that today. 2 more to go. One of them is about 1.5m long 30cm wide and 20cm high. Chuckin' it in a bluestone slab weight calculator it's over 250kgs lol.
Not sure what to do with the big one (or how to move it safely). Tempted to bury it a bit, upright in the middle of the lawn as a sort of a space odyssey monolith thing for no reason.
bangs table excitedly TRIPLE PAY MONTH TRIPLE PAY MONTH and yes I have carefully planned my leave to come around the bonus pay. Half of it to savings, the other half to buy me some fuckin' treats and I have now ordered the Bigtree I have had my eye on for years
They seemed to like the drawn tutorial (with the original video credited of course) so I whacked up part 2 - someone followed them both and posted their results. There you go. Iโve made my first few tutorials and kinda become a teacher to others.
Now to actually learn how to draw myself and not teach people bad habits ๐คช
I managed to get another weeks worth of antibiotics which will hold me til I can see my regular gp.
I feel heavy as lead and like Iโve been beaten by a sack of hammers. The anxiety has been bad today too which can be the low phosphate. The phosphate supplement has to be ordered in and costs $70-ishโฆ
spoiler
I could have just tried to supplement at home with a dark fizzy drink containing phosphoric acid (ie. Pepsi, Coke, cola, root beer or Dr Pepper) but canโt have the caffeine they usually contain.
I would have to buy a more expensive syrup online and mix it with generic carbonated water.
My psychologist, psychiatrist and someone in my personal life who is not a friend or family member all think I have autism. None of them know each other, and have just told me that coincidentally at the same time. Unfortunately, it would explain a lot. I didn't even think of it until they said it.
Just got a "how and why to vote liberal" flyer in the mailbox. There are two candidates in my seat - a Labor and a Green. Good work on the analytics there fellas.
Feeling better now but I think I'll work from home today just to make sure everything is cleared from my system. The last thing you need before a week of is losing a day and a half to sickness
Had an awful nightmare about someone from my past and woke up to see that theyโd tried to call me at 3:45am (number is blocked, but it shows in my call log). I sent them a polite email โthis makes me very uncomfortable, please stop. Also Iโm blocking your email address, so do not reply.โ I donโt know if that was the right course of action, but Iโm justโฆ I just donโt want to see their name in my call log any more. They try and call a couple of times a month and I know itโs not for anything and theyโll always just say โit was an accidentโ or โI saw a bit of news you might be interested inโ. Omg just stop.
I get ads for Temu which I'm quite happy to watch. Some things look handy and give me ideas but I'll never buy them from there. I like the kitchen stuff.
Today's ad was doggy wheels like the ones when the dog can't use his back legs. Doggy looked very happy wheeling around.
...So I've been pondering getting a NUC for the bedroom media player, but they exxy af. Friend just randomly swung by when decommissioning a bunch of shit for work and gave me a dell embedded 3000. freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Eastlink account has now been updated with the new vehicle. I had to phone them because the previous owner still had it on his account.
It does make me wonder what the legal situation is if you just keep driving on someone else's account. Would they be stuck with the charges because they have agreed to pay tolls on that vehicle, or would it be considered some sort of theft by deception because I know I'm not really authorised?
The new work laptop has a Copilot button. The most offensive thing about it is the Copilot button has replaced the right Ctrl key. Remapping it with Powertoys hasn't worked. I actually use the right Ctrl key so the irony of this button promising a productivity assistant replacing an actually useful key that enhances productivity is not lost on me.
Can't sleep, too hot, angry angry angry at having my work schedule upended last minute and not having the time I really needed and now running behind on things again. Forced back out into site visits when I had other stuff to do and planned everything ahead of time. I am firmly putting my foot down next time.
I'm going to be extra grumpy from being sleep deprived as well...
Well, despite barely sleeping at all out of frustration and resentment and the heat, I seem to have woken up feeling alright and the day was rather pretty and fun for what it was, once i realised other deadlines were going to have to get tossed out beyond my control
Still got a lot of uni stuff to do before meeting tomorrow and I had banked on a short office day today to give me more time. Am now exhausted and about to see psych after which I rarely feel like doing and work but we'll see... maybe I'll reward myself with pizza tonight if I can get it all done.
People who type on loud clacky keyboards in open place workspaces are psychopaths. The keyboard is not balanced on the desk as well, so it rocks when being smashed by its user, adding to the wall of sound.
I've switched from my ear buds to my over-ear headphones, let's see how we go blocking it out.
Picked up the bike with the new Marathon tyres on it. I noticed the weight picking it up more than I expected, same with pushing off on a quick test ride. It's not so bad once you get going, though.
It also just feels off having tyres like this on a gravel bike, like putting regular road tyres on a rally car but more noticeable. In reality this bike spends most of its time on the road and these tyres are meant to keep the flats away so I can spend more time riding. The added weight will be good for strength training
