"Alarm as Florida Republicans move to fill deported workers’ jobs with children: ‘It’s insane, right?’" Yes, this is Mass Mind insanity, group mob mentality, Brain Damage of crowds
America is becoming the most vile country on the planet.
You fucking idiots voted in an orange muppet rapist who’s being controlled by a Russian dictator while sending secret communications between a drunk ex showman who now runs the military.
You get what you voted for. Enjoy having your kids in blueberry fields and coal mines to continue building wealth for the rich for penny’s.
Pathetic. America is pathetic.
Meanwhile, those of us that most definitely did NOT vote for this are faced with new horrors every day, right here in our own country. It's just a blast watching our former allies shutting the door and giving the entire population the finger when we are facing a crisis like this. I have to wonder, was this what it was like during the Nazi's rise to power? Did other nations turn a blind eye and say "not my problem"? Now the formerly so called leader of the free world has been taken down by the oligarchs and so many countries and people are saying good luck, get fucked. I guess it's fine to overthrow some back water country in the name of "democracy" but the US can rot right? Not like this will have any impact on global relations or climate change, right?
To be clear, I'm not attacking you, I'm just frustrated to see this happening around me and seeing so little support for the people here that want absolutely nothing to do with it. There are a lot of people here that don't deserve what's coming, that have voted, campaigned, protested and argued against it, and I really wish people took the time to understand that nuance to not just this situation, but everything.
To those that lend encouragement and support to anyone standing against this, thank you, whole heartedly, because we absolutely need it.
It's easier to roll into an underdeveloped nation than into the nation with the biggest military (and economy I think?) in the world!
Best we can do from the outside right now is help you guys help yourselves, by showing you that the last choice was a bad one so you may make a better choice next time. At least that's all we can do officially and publicly.
Also, there was a shit ton of shenanigans going on during the last election. Other countries boycotting our products will absolutely help us. If it costs the 1% money, he will be taken down a notch. The oligarchs are in this for the money after all.
What specifically do you think other countries should be doing?
I think our allies are doing everything they can do. They can't "help" us militarily. What they can do is help us economically. Then the US attempted to help itself during trump 45, what did all the censures, panels, investigations, lawsuits, and eventual impeachments amount to? Liberal tears. Prior to Inauguration Day, one of the democratic strategies discussed, was to let trump do his thing, without all the interference. Of course there are the lawsuits - anyone can sue anyone. Maybe the way to get MAGA voters to recognise how terrible trump (and MAGA) is, is to just let things happen, to the point where the MAGAs get pissed at MAGA.
Our allies are doing their part to come to our defense by retaliating on the tariffs, moving away from buying American goods, finding other trade partners, moving away from depending on the American Military, and potentially moving away from the US Dollar. No matter how this all plays out, it will hurt Americans, because in this case, the threat to America is coming from within America.
In the end, if our democratic republic survives, do we really need to be the "world police?" Do we really need a military that's bigger than the next 13 militaries combined? I'm not really saying that we should or shouldn't, but the "liberal world order" that has been enjoyed since WWII is expensive, but well worth it, considering what the cost of WWIII will be. Additionally, the expenses endured by the US in "running the show" also bought the influence of American Interests all over the world. Do we really need to run the show? Do the interests of the US align with that of our allies close enough, that we could simply be members of the team, instead of having to watch the "orange dipshit" shove his way to the center of the front row of every photo, where national leadership is gathered.
America has lost its way. Our allies are doing everything they can, to help our nation recover from the threat within. While President Turd-gurgler swings his bludgeon of tariffs, then no tariffs, then new tariffs, Canada targets its tariffs at the people who voted for the president and his tariffs. When the half of the nation who didn't vote for trump is joined by the half of the nation who did vote for trump, the trump problem can be solved. Until then, any objection to trump is simply another liberal tear.
The pearl clutching of many non-north American people is becoming nearly comedic.
It's always been "you shouldn't lump everyone on that label as the same because they aren't" up to now, so it sure is "confusing" as to why suddenly all Americans bad.
Other countries also currently have popular fascists problems. Its hard to help other countries deal with their fascist problems when you have your own fascist problems
There may also be a want for revenge
The people who purposefully didn't vote are the real fucking idiots.
There are a bunch right here on lemmy that took a "principled stance", and fucked us realllllll fuckin hard.
Anyone who didn't vote is fucking stupid as shit.
A few dozen bomb threats at polling places in the swing states makes it real suspect whether we actually did vote him in.
Musk buying his way into and out of everything should have always been a red flag into how the 2024 election was actually won.
Yeah, but his competition laughed a little too much or some other bullshit reason so we couldn’t have elected her.
Had you fooled for a while though, didn't we? 👉😉👉
