Yes. In fact, I have spent a long portion of my life starting my morning with demands of the release of the kraken.
We're not learning the lesson fast enough. The kraken will either be another step in our downfall, or we can start feeding people to them until things get better.

Well one it looks very cool (magical perhaps even) and as humans we aren't really made for swimming with whales, so it can feel like a sin to see such beauty when you were never really meant to see it
something so stupidly gigantic having eyes that look soulful and intelligent is rather uncomfortable to most people, it's a pretty common trope for that reason
I wonder if that's where the mass effect devs got the inspiration for the mass relay design
