I've never blocked someone except bots, so I'm wondering what your reasons are to block people. In my experience trolls/people who argument in bad faith lost interest quickly when I didn't respond.
Anyone who says North Korea is the best korea, denies tiannmen square, thinks russia is justified in taking ukraine, and has a lemmy.ml ueername is an instant block from me
If I agree with you, it's harassment. If I disagree with you, you'd block me. So, I'll just say imo you're one beautiful *slur* and I'm glad you're so humble to acknowledge&embrace your own limitations 🤍
there's a rather large difference between not wanting to engage in good faith with any alternative viewpoint and not wanting to engage with a single bad faith actor.
one is a misogynist refusing to listen to any feminist talking points because it's all woke and/or libtard and/or feminazi trash while the other is a minority telling someone to fuck themselves because they don't want to 'debate' their right to exist
the internet is just... Such a shitty venue for these conversations. I have friends in the real world who disagree with me. If someone is being nasty online I feel no compunction to spend the brainpower on them. Especially as I continue to struggle with the deluge of bad news and it's affect on my mental health.
completely agree. One thing I hope the federation gets to is as much fine grained control for the user as possible. One thing I like with trustcafe is they have this trust level. 0 is essentially block, 100 is essentially subscribe and the levels between will prioritize them in your feed one direction or another.
