Republicans block vote to release Epstein files
Republican lawmakers have blocked a move that could have forced President Donald Trump's administration to release the files on Jeffrey Epstein's investigation.
The matter made its way into the political discourse as the House Rules Committee considered the issue, after a failed attempt by the Democrats to force a vote in Congress on whether the Epstein files should be made public.
As one of the oldest standing committees in Congress, the group's key role concerns the flow of legislation to the House floor.
Khanna's amendment was in effect a procedural measure that was tacked on to the GENIUS Act, which relates to digital assets such as crypto currency. If the amendment had been passed, it would have forced Attorney General Pam Bondi to publish the Epstein documents on a "publicly accessible website."

When I was a child, I was told that America was free cause it was the only country with a democracy.
Then you must be American. Only the USA never stops telling itself and everyone else it's the only free and democratic country. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
American and definitely feeling set up and lied to, with regards to the propaganda told to me when I was a teenager.
American propaganda, telling children they have freedoms they'll never have, and be constantly gaslit to believe that they have them.
You see they had a little vote between themselves (8 Republicans and 4 Democrats) to make this totally fair, unbiased and democratic outcome.
America has never been and has never claimed to be true democracy, it's quite notably a republic.
Yeah, I know. Hence my notion above about the propaganda issued to us, and how wildly incorrect that propaganda is, in all its forms.
