I don't get it
19 0 ReplyI think the idea is that the person would go through the tedious work of removing all the stringy bits from an orange on the other person's behalf.
46 0 ReplyMy pervert brain first saw it as a metaphor for shaving everything.
But for most people that would count as "tedious work" too, so the underlying message would be the same either way.

5 0 ReplyYou're not the only one with a pervy brain. I thought it was a metaphor for sex.
5 0 ReplyI thought someone was going to fuck the orange and was terribly confused.
6 0 ReplyI suggest a grapefruit

Looks like a tangerine. Still tedious, but much easier than an orange.
8 0 ReplyWhy would someone do that ?
4 0 Reply9 0 Replybecause the stringy bits, like the rind, are bitter, which changes the flavour of the fruit.
5 0 ReplyFor most citrus the pith has no flavor at all, definitely not bitter. Most people object to the texture and blandness/lack of flavor, which I can understand. I have a bunch of citrus trees in my yard, and learned to not mind the pith, mainly due to laziness (I eat a lot of oranges) - and it's a good source of fiber.

You either don't have kids, or they're not horribly picky eaters like mine.
The stringy bits of an orange are tedious to remove. But if you ask my children, they're also poisonous and taste like death.
10 0 ReplyThey're pretty bitter when you're young, but your taste buds usually become less sensitive to it as you age.
