Relaxation and lubrication

The Oompa Loompa songs from the book are not better; Gloop is rhymed with nincompoop.

I like the ending of the old movie as it portrayed Charlie doing what he thought was right in spite of both his gain (the money from Slugworth) and the loss of someone he felt had wronged him. He's a kid, not a saint, and makes a mistake with the lifting drinks. In the book, he was just the last one left. There was no demonstration of Charlie actually being a decent person. The book has more flaws than the old movie; the changes were an improvement.

The new movie did stay closer to the book unless you count the stuff about Wonka's childhood or the ending. But I really don't think staying closer to the source material necessarily makes a movie any better.

Twin Peaks. Lots of mood. The revival had several musical guests, too.

I'm going to update my statement: the only film of his that I still like is Beetlejuice. I'm sure there are people that like many of his movies and that's fine, I've just learned I'm not one of them, especially when Depp is involved.

Not a fan of leaky Penguin or Catwoman licking herself and eating a bird.

Nightmare Before Christmas I'm so tired of. It got commercialized to shit. But sure, I'll give you I enjoyed my first watch.

Haven't seen Ed Wood, but Burton/Depp is a turn off for me. Otherwise it looks like it might be fun.

Mars Attacks I just didn't enjoy.

Big Fish I haven't seen, but I just watched the trailer and I'm not really interested in that kind of story. Apparently I'm also tired of Danny Elfman.

I got into a fist fight with my older sister when we were teens. Now we get along swimmingly. I don't really have a relationship with three other siblings that were further apart age-wise. Relationships are complicated and extremely so when it comes to people growing up as different stages of development will clash with others. That all being said, some people are just assholes and assholes can have siblings, too.

This is modeled after the 70s movie. The book describes the boat as being made of pink glass and was large enough for 100 Oompa Loompa oar rowers.

And now for some hot takes: The old movie was way better than the book. The new movies are complete trash. Tim Burton hasn't been involved in a good firm since 1990.

Thankfully they left out the chicken part.

Yes, though we first met several years before we started dating. We saw each other maybe a half dozen times via mutual acquaintances. Then, in spite of my moustache and her marriage, a non date turned into a date when two people who were going to come out with us cancelled. We moved in together within a few months. There were still plenty of rough times as well, but we grew in our relationship and as people and it turned out pretty well. We still have pretty good chemistry.
