[Steam Key Giveaway] 3x Stardew Valley to give away
  • Bought it on Android with rewards funds to share it with wife, so she would stop using the goddamn Duolingo and the stupid game it pushes as an advert. But hey, wouldn't mind trying it on PC in multiplayer with her I guess

  • HOV lanes and EVs
  • Alternatively, we could keep the allowance, but add a second HOV lane, leaving gas vehicles to whatever's left on the highway. But that probably be unpopular. 😀

Can't afford EV, or house to charge it, but I'd still support it. Fuck the idiotic gas guzzlers on the roads.

What I'd really like to see is some enforcement of the HOV lanes. I see random wanker driving in there alone waaayyy too often, and shortly after there's like 10 of them. (Talking about a particular section in Pitt Meadows, and no they aren't all trying to take the next exit). Then again, there so many other rules and laws that go in enforced on the road that his is just another thing to throw on top of the pile.

  • GOG using Captchas when redeeming codes
  • I do some similar stuff, multiple redeems when I remember that Amazon gaming is a thing, but whilst I do get captcha challenges, they are some of the easiest I've seen lately. So it is possibly something to do with your specific setup to access their site. No VPN here, and Firefox with Noscript and ublock does not pose any issue, though I obviously have to temp whitelist gog and gog static or whatever are their two domains for the site to even work. I think I have whatever captcha service domain they use permanently whitelisted because some important thing I need to access, related to payments, uses it.

  • AMD claims most gamers don’t need more than 8GB of VRAM, after new GPU launch
  • Oh so it's not that many players are FORCED to play at 1080p because AMDs and Novideos "affordable" garbage can't cope with anything more to make a game seem smooth, or better yet the game detected we're running on a calculator here so it took pity on us and set the graphics bar low.

  • Smoke points
  • I'll follow this one before that garbage, I'm yet to use sunflower oil that performed worse than canola. Not sure what garbage they are pretending to reference, perhaps some shit Russians stole from Ukraine and shipped off to US?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Smoke_point_of_cooking_oils

Edit: slight side note, as the above may be interpreted in different ways. I've only ever bought Sunflower oil produced in Ukraine while in Canada, all of it has been high quality. Have seen some from Balkans (IIRC?) but it was cloudy so didn't even bother trying it. Not saying it's an inherent country of origin issue there, more like Walmart trying to find some cheap shit to make money off of. I think Italy was the only other country I saw as a source once and that was just ridiculously priced, mostly because it was mixed with olive oil.

  • European Citizens' Initiative to "Stop Destroying Videogames" is missing ridiculously low thresholds.
  • I've looked at signing, but I don't have the required documentation and I can't get it anymore because my former fellow compatriots keep voting for Russian shills for almost 2 decades and at this point I've have essentially lost citizenship for all intents and purposes due to the shit laws they pass.

  • What food item are people sleeping on?
  • Various spices and dried herbs? Get a whole bunch of different ones, perhaps even some premixed from India (though unnecessary, but may be available even in places like Lidl every now and then IIRC)

I always fall back on chicken breast, what most people seem to find bland and dry. Well, you can mix up some spices together, figure out some combinations you like and put them on your protein/vegetable of choice (will work well with olive oil too as another person mentioned). Want it done quick? Chop it up into smaller pieces and throw in a frying pan. Don't want it oily? Swap it out for butter (just use lower heat) although I prefer sunflower oil.

You'll probably have few that you eventually always use in combination with others. E.g. my favorite to use are sweet paprika, coriander and turmeric. Turmeric seems kinda crap on its own, but works well with other spices. Coriander doesn't need much added, if anything and smells good imo and paprika just goes well on lots of various stuff (note that smoked or plain paprika is also very different from sweet kind though)

  • Speedboat that flipped midair in 200 mph crash wins race on Arizona lake
  • Yea that flip and rotation definitely saved them, you can see in the video they slow down drastically in the air while the top of the boat was pointing mostly forward, although they likely also experienced some drastic gforce changes as it happened.

  • lemmy.world or lemm.ee?
  • For general use more or less either of them, or dbzer0 or lemmy.ca or a few others you would have seen in your feed by now.

Localized instances are fine too, not sure if sync is still an issue, but if it is just view scaled, or 24hr or longer view.

  • "It could break us": Valley farmer says Chinese tariffs have crushed the alfalfa export market
  • Not quite, well at least not for the US as a whole, but could be different for California/Arizona specifically if anyone has the numbers?

As for US, China exports were still about the same as next two countries combined, so by far the largest market. Good riddance anyway. Source: https://hayandforage.com/article-5229-Hay-exports-flatlined-in-2024.html

  • Damn, Global News not completely shilling for the conservatives?

Sure, it's still not a complete damnation of smallppnobrains, but at this time it could theoretically still hurt him due to last advance election day being Monday and a election day a week away. Perhaps they just had to throw something in to balance out all the pro-cuntservative stuff they air to appear "unbiased"?

Idiot couldn't handle his new toy in the rainy Metro Vancouver [OC]

Managed to hit the concrete barriers on both sides of a 3 lane highway. Luckily didn't hit anyone but traffic was about 3km long an hour later and caused another accident within the traffic jam itself.

Edit:grammar, and obligatory - I took the frame from my partner's video who captured it for me, as I was busy avoiding the debris scattered all over the highway trying not to get a puncture. I don't touch my phone while I drive, and hope you don't either.
