    What is ?

  • Neopronouns are not trolling
  • Some parts of the internet would call what you are doing concern trolling. Let's assume it isn't. This hasn't happened yet at blĂ„haj, and I haven't seen it happen elsewhere. Ada makes it clear in the post that this wouldn't be acceptable and that someone with a slur as their pronoun would simply be removed.

This isn’t a free reign for trolls and spammers. The rules still apply. Trolling, spamming, etc will continue to be dealt with, but it’s not an excuse to act as if respecting someones pronouns is optional.

Also I would like to note this part in Adas post:

or to not engage with them.

Why is it that none of you want to do this? Why do you all come here and lash out against neopronouns? You've already said it doesn't make sense to you, but you are free to just leave and not participate, or to not engage with neopronoun users.

  • Neopronouns are not trolling
  • There are plenty of neopronouns that are used by lots of people. In scandinavia we've adopted a common non-binary neopronoun f.ex, and english has lots of different ones that are very commonly used

Edit: Also not relevant, this post is about moderating misgendering. You've conveyed your problem, but you've not actually responded to anything in the post or in my comment.

  • Neopronouns are not trolling
  • For everyone confused about neopronouns I would like you to consider what we could and could not do about them.

    We could:

    1. Not respect them and let people bully neopronoun users
    2. Respect them and not let people bully neopronoun users

Doesn't really matter if you want to use the pronouns or not, clearly respecting neopronouns is the only good way to deal with the situation unless you want to give people free reign to just talk down to, misgender, and harass a group of users.

  • Trans trules
  • No, just the way you phrased everything sounded off and weird. Like it's so very easy to not care about this issue and you show up and you cast doubt on people for no real reason, calling them disingenuous when you honestly you have no way to know. It was just such a tacked on and accusatory line.

Like yeah these memes if you can even call them that are very specific to this person, but all we have to do is not care and move on.

Imagine if drag is just a bit odd but being sincere, and they receive all these comments on every post about how drag are "fake" and a troll etc. What exactly are you contributing to then? Don't comment. Move on.

  • Trans trules
  • People being annoyed does not justify people harassing someone. If someone thinks neopronouns are weird or annoying on the internet then just don't engage with them instead of commenting on it all the time.

Edit: I remember not liking neopronouns as a kid and I never went out of my way to bother anyone about it. Also dragon rider doesn't force anyone to use drags pronouns, drag is fine with they/them

  • Trans trules
  • All you have to do if you don't like or understand something is move on. You didn't need to come here and invalidate someones identity.

    Edit:

It just strikes me as a little disingenuous or odd.

This just screams that you are being disingenuous yourself is what I mean.

  • Trans trules
  • Dragon Rider is being accused of being a fake transgender person because people don't like drags pronouns. The meme implies the so-called trolls are just polite trans people, and that the person being offended by said trans people are simply transphobic, which they are.

Pain in left leg after injection

Hi! I've been using gel for several months, but a few weeks ago I made the change to injections. Each injection has resulted in some pains in random areas in my left leg, but mostly concentrated in the muscles below the knee. I also started waking up with muscle spasms in the same leg, which is something I used to have before puberty. The pain mostly subsides after a day or two.

I suspect the issue is vasodilation which I understand is more common in women than men because estrogen dilates the blood vessels, but I wanted to hear other peoples thoughts.

Wearing overknee socks (to compress) helps, as does ice and exercise/movement, which I think is in favour of this being vasodilation.

I will be bringing this up with a doctor in a couple of weeks, but I'm afraid he won't be able to help much or have someone to refer me to as competence regarding trans stuff is pretty low here in Norway (also I'm diy).

I would like to know as much as possible about what this could be so I have something to present to him.

    Disappointing moderation on other instances

I don't really know which community to post this in, I think this is the most relevant one?

I've recently spent a bit more time on lemmy.world and I have to say they don't seem super keen on removing trolls and transphobes, same for instances like lemmings.world.

The moderators seem to be perfectly aware of transphobic replies, vague threats, misinformation, and obvious trolling, yet they hardly remove any of the offending replies, and rarely if ever ban anyone. Certainly not often enough to make the network less toxic.

This post was mostly to vent, but I would also like to ask: when you report someone, who receives the report? Mods on my instance? The mods of the specific community I'm reporting from?

Sorry if this is the wrong place.
