  • I guess it would be better to say they innovated the slate style phone. Android didn’t come out until 2008 and all other top phones used physical buttons. The iPhone technically only had 5 for general functions.

  • I remember the first keynote. Jobs kept repeating phrases like music player, web browser, and phone together like that. And then boom, he whipped out the first iPhone that was in his pocket the whole time. While there were similar devices at the time, nothing (to my knowledge) was all one package especially in an all touch device that small.

  • Green River, U-Men, Gas Huffer, Skin Yard, TAD…..so many great bands and too many to name. Of course everyone remembers the big 4, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana. But they weren’t what defined the scene. Maybe the early releases, but the mainstream albums hit for a reason. I still like it all though.

I’m that weird guy that still buys cassette tapes from Sub Pop haha.

If you get a chance and want to dive into it, then book by Mark Yarm (no relation to Mark Arm lol) called “Everyone loves our town, the oral history of grunge” is super wild. The guy basically interviewed everyone from the U-Men to producers and managers.

  • Astroneer, Raft, and if you like mindless indie stuff Generation Zero.

Remnant 1 & 2 if you like souls type third person shooters.

Dungeon of the Endless and the new version Endless Dungeon.

  • Matt Lukin and all the guys from Mudhoney are still there. So is Krist Novoselic. He even holds political office currently I think.

Jack Endino still runs a recording studio, although I think he doesn’t produce as much as he used to.

  • Should be OSX 10.5.8 if anyone is curious. Which can be used all the way back to the 2002 quicksilver G4’s that ran 867 MHz processors. Which is dumb, the dual cpu 800 MHz were limited to 10.4.11 and couldn’t upgrade. But at that point they were quite dated anyways so it doesn’t matter that much.

  • If you can get ahold of a maverick hybrid at msrp, there’s that. But it’s limited to 2,000 lbs. the ecoboost with towing can do 4,000 but then you’re right back in the same spot as the Hyundai minus the theft issue lol.
