  • I've had this issue and for me using earlyoom helped. My computer ram would fill up and the kernel oom killer wouldn't trip in time to be helpful. It could just be your memory filling up and your computer not killing the offending process in time.

  • "Dumbfounded by the cruelty" the cruelty is the point. It is infuriating to watch these people run over their own toes over and over, then ask without any sense of curiosity or desire to understand "why can't I walk anymore?" I don't think they want to know. I think it's easier to pretend that this is all too difficult and complex for them to understand than it is to come to grips with the reality that, to borrow industry lingo, "shit's fucked".

  • As a Pixel 6 Pro user who occasionally has to interact with the Samsung devices my parents use, holy moly I don't know how anybody puts up with this. We're talking fullscreen advertisement lockscreen bloatware that can be disabled but not uninstalled, added to the phone out of nowhere with a recent update. The worst android keyboard I've ever used in my life. A UI and all of Samsung's versions of existing apps that I'm constantly fighting just to use the phone. It's ridiculous. I genuinely don't know how anyone can run a Samsung device without installing a custom ROM or something it's actually insane.

  • First paragraph indicates that it's pulling from ProtonDB's list of games:

However, the most recent stats from ProtonDB (via Boiling Steam) highlight that we are edging towards a magnificent milestone. The latest distilled data shows that almost 90% of Windows games now run on Linux.

  • How is the birthday paradox being used incorrectly?

With 365 unique possible IDs, only 23 are needed to break the 50% chance threshold of new IDs colliding with an existing one. With 2.8 trillion unique possible IDs, only 1.7 million are needed to break the 50% chance threshold of new IDs colliding with an existing one.

It seems like an apples to apples comparison to me. Is it not?

  • The last two times I've felt nothing and the common denominator was getting Pfizer instead of Moderna. Is it possible your pharmacy was out of what you usually get and had to use the other COVID vaccine, which your body may react to differently?

  • I feel like you have to be trolling to ask for an example of a youtube video you can't find outside youtube. Obviously most creators don't crosspost their videos to something like bilibili or dailymotion or peertube.

Why are you trying to gatekeep getting away from google (degoogling) by claiming you have to completely abandon anything google owns for it to count? You're being weird.

  • This article doesn't even say why Spain isn't committing to the 5% target. The article OP crossposted says why in the first few sentences:

But Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said at the time that he would not commit to the 5 per cent target, calling it “incompatible with our welfare state and our world vision”.

Not sure how the Politico article is better in this case since it seems less informative.

  • Does the article have any problems you'd like to point out, or are we just being weird and racist for the fun of it? The Straights Times is Singaporean, not Chinese. The only link I can find between The Straights Times and the government of China is from a few months ago when the CEO met with several Chinese state-run news agencies to discuss collaborating to "tell the story of the two countries’ development and people-to-people friendship." That's the only link I can find. The Singaporean news outlet is most definitely not "a state owned newspaper by the Chinese government."

Edit: The Straights Times is republishing this article by Reuters. Any complaints you have would be directed there, not at The Straights Times. You're being weird.

  • people suddenly claiming hasan uses a shock collar on kaya to keep her in her bed to look pretty on stream

    look inside

years of streaming but somehow only one clip of this

    look closer

clip is from three months ago and only suddenly started circulating in the last 24 hours, particularly on a subreddit that has become pseudo-dedicated to hating on and smearing hasan

    look even closer

clip is being spread by very strangely defensive people who immediately resort to calling you an abuser defender because hasan "glared" at kaya and "grunted to himself" before regathering his thoughts and thats evidence of animal abuse???

I've seen your type before you're just here to argue on the internet because your mom missed her alarm to pick you up from school and you have 30 minutes to kill until she gets there. Remember to drink water throughout your day and brush your teeth before bed kiddo.

  • Watched the timestamped video and it's Kaya getting up to stretch then lying back down. Not sure where the alleged shock collar clip is from. Also the vod is from three months ago. When I searched for a Reddit post someone commented under the VOD, it didn't bring me to the post they claimed exist, but the first result just so happened to be the h3 subreddit. And the entire front page of the subreddit just so happens to be everyone reposting the same clips and claiming Hasan shocks Kaya and coping about him almost saying she wears a shock collar when he obviously wasn't. I wouldn't be surprised if this was from a Klein fanboy who found an old clip and spun up a story about it being a shock collar to give Hasan a week of drama to deal with.

  • There are no collars that come with big boxes with lights attached to them, that are not shock collars.

Did you forget that GPS collars exist?

This is the first time I've ever heard the claim that Kaya wears a shock collar and the first time I've ever seen her yip like that. What I have seen is Hasan picking Kaya up to cuddle her because she's a big baby, Hasan reaching over to check his phone when he gets a notification, and Kaya roaming freely when she wants and often choosing to lie on her little bed in the stream room.

It seems very unlikely that this is a shock collar that Hasan uses the second Kaya gets up to stretch.

  • I use a plugin for Jellyfin (which I believe is available by default you just have to click the install option on the plugins page in your Dashboard) and manually download subtitles through the subtitles menu for an item if what I download doesn't include them.

  • He might be the lowest info voter in the whole country and that's certainly a big part of why he's so popular among his base of low information voters. He's very relatable to them, and I don't mean that as a sly dig. Being relatable is a big issue for Democrats who can't even provide a vision for the future of the country (which is why people like Mamdani are so popular, since they actually do).
