Ows was no where near as organized as the tea party was. Also the tea party was an actual attempt at a party and got involved in politics. While I supported ows it was mostly a protest movement.

Not really though. I look for an email provider because I want to communicate via email. I’m not looking for a mastodon provider because I want mastodon. What people are looking for is social engagement online and there are many more options with more appealing content that don’t require a normal human to understand FOSS, the fediverse, etc etc.

My understanding is there was more split ticket voting in this election than in years prior. Also have to consider that abortion received a huge amount of votes from many people who also voted for trump.
