  • I think our inhumane health insurance system predates Trump being president by at least a little bit...

  • Hell yeah! This rules!

  • I grew up in a country that insisted these two guys were somewhere to the left of Fidel Castro.

Your post makes me think you somehow believed them...

  • Join a Union? Feed the homeless? Organize your fellow tenants? Actually attend a city council meeting?

You're smugly confirming your allegiance to the liberal death cult, because your only conception of "political engagement" is voting in a system that is crumbling before our very eyes.

And no, just voting wouldn't have stopped that decay. Nothing in the world is static, and 1000 years of Obama wouldn't stop the larger political-economic factors that are fueling fascism, political polarization, and civil unrest.

Cool, go vote, especially if it's in your local and state elections that no one actually pays attention to. But disengage from the rat race, and do something with an actual impact in your community.

  • Wolf Launcher, if you don't want to deal with the shitty stock launcher.

CloudStream is good if you watch anime.

The folks on r/piracy seem to like an app called Stremio, but I haven't got that one set up yet.

    I have a Jellyfin client.

SmartTube Next is an ad free Youtube client for the firestick.

And then I also have Kanopy and Hoopla which let me access media via my public library card.

  • Well... It has those things for the settler population

  • She's got a couple of different podcasts. Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff, which is a radical history podcast on the same podcast network as BTB, and Live Like The World is Dying which is a show about prepping.

My first exposure to her was actually by listening to an interview she did for the guerilla radio station operated out of The ZAD, which is in France, and is the largest Anarchist autonomous zone in Europe.

  • Margaret Killjoy

Definitely seconding this recommendation. I've really liked Margarets Killjoy's more adult sci-fi/fantasy output, for a long time. The Free Orcs of Cascadia is a personal favorite.

But she recently wrote a YA fantasy novel called The Sapling Cage which is really wonderful.

  • Idk I might've been able to live without seeing the Mr. Hands video, back in the day.

  • The Solution to Traffic video, like you mentioned, springs to mind, but so does the one based on Guns, Germs, and Steel

  • If it helps, i have a political science degree. No one takes Horseshoe Theory seriously. I'm not arguing because there is nothing to argue.

  • Don't discrace the good name of my friend, Portable Document Format

  • When I was playing Resident Evil 2 as a kid, I was really invested in Sherry, the kind of annoying, little girl side character that you have to escort around.

The fact that this zombie apocalypse game trojan-horsed a family drama into its plot was fun, and 12 year old me, who always picked the boy character when playing Pokemon, because I felt like I had to, was confronted with a lot of confusing feelings when RE2 made me play as Sherry.

    Anyway, I'm Transgender now.

  • Behave? Causing people to suddenly slow down or slam on their brakes, and go 5-10 mph under the speed limit is infinitely more dangerous

  • Meh, I travel a fair bit, and go hiking quite a lot, and keep a little pouch with a bunch of essentials in it, in my bag. Among those things are some caffeine pills. They're light, cheap, and easily accessible when I need them.

I was never a coffee fan, but I do drink tea, and sometimes that experience is just plainly more pleasant than popping a pill.

  • OK, but... Does anyone have recommendations for obscure text-based games? Sounds rad tbh
