  • It takes time to search terms and figure out what it really being said. But I'd rather take the time then to live in a hive mind that TELLS me what to think

  • that's too subjective. Better to just do age

  • I can't think of anyone with a more direct answer than Martin Luther King - β€œI have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Anyone who judges someone by the color of their skin is a racist

  • You don't need to be a scientist to research medical things. There are multiple sources that will provide information that you can evaluate for yourself

  • You totally missed the point. If someone posted that and if you were capable of thinking for yourself you would research it on your own. And you would then be able to post a link supporting your position. Do you want to possibly change the position of the person and others in the same mind set making the original post or do you just want to censor them. Censorship is what causes the divide. Both sides of an issue being posted causes people to think and hopefully come together.

  • Thank you for that simple and easy to understand explanation.

  • We all saw the undeniable evidence that Twitter had suppressed anything not in line with the positions of the left. If "X" is now doing exactly the same thing regarding posts not conforming with positions of the right then it's just more bullshit. What is the problem with treating every position equally? I understand censorship in regard to things like doxing, child porn, and calls for violence.....but everything else should be allowed and let users decide for themselves. Haven't we had enough of being "told" what to think.

  • There are so many terms today that are so over used that they have become meaningless. There are still actual racists. Unfortunately there will always be racists. But you minimize that real problem by shouting "racist" at anyone who disagrees with you

Companies and testing their products on animals

  • If we have a minimum age to run for President then why not a maximum age. Initially we didn't need it because most people would be dead by 70. But we need it now

  • I don't understand Canadian politics. Can anyone explain how elections work there? Aren't they held every X amount of years? Seems like Trudeau has been head of the government forever.

  • Being able to play sports (baseball/football) with neighborhood kids. No organizations like today. No parents interfering. No one drove you to the field, you walked there. Everyone got along and there were no overweight kids because everyday you got plenty of outside exercise.

  • A stereotype .... but why do old people wake up so early and go to bed so early?

  • This is sort of like are you thinking with your brain or your cock. There's usually a bad outcome when your penis over rules your sober brain.

  • smart plan. And you could actually leave the window closed and ensure that no other co workers bother you. Who is going to walk into a methane chamber

    Time to make your decesion

  • I don’t think any generation is β€œsmarter” than the last at any given age.

I think the latest generation is smarter in some technological aspects because they learn them in school. Older generations didn't have that opportunity because those technologies didn't exist then. When I have a technical question related to things like Iphones I always ask the youngest person that I know.

One advantage of older generations is that they actually lived during historic events while the young can only read an author's interepretation of those events

  • Everyone needs to understand it's your swing and contact point....not the club that is the problem

    Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

You were buzzed. You went on social media and made some comments that you would never post if you were sober. The next day do you run back and delete them all?

  • Some one made the KEY comment about lawsuits. Today people sue over anything. Like you are so stupid you spill hot coffee on yourself. (coffee is hot) and then blame the people that you bought the coffee from. In earlier days simple logic was accepted and dumb people wouldn't be able to find ambulance chasers to file lawsuits for them. Today "instructions" to guide the dumber people are actually to prevent lawsuits.
