  • I'm not trans in anyway, but the post caught my eye. The person sounds a self-centered and self-absorbed. They likely misgender you because they literally just don't care - they want attention and complain when it isn't about them.

You need to report it to the person in charge of the volunteer events and tell them essentially what you said here, that this person is constantly disrespecting you to the point that it's harassment at this point. That you don't want to be a problem, but you can't work with this person.

I'm really sorry that this is happening, but if you've tried talking to them numerous times then it sounds like it's not going to change and your going to have to make a choice, either a.) Put up with it, b.) Report them, or c.) Find another place you can volunteer at.

  • Lol okay. Not really sure why your so jaded mate. Because I said soda is bad? Or because i was too sardonic in regards the guy's retort that "diet soda exists" as if that somehow made this whole "drinking soda in the morning" thing any better?

  • Oooh...that's so much healthier. Really got me on that one. It's not like it's linked to weight gain as it makes you more addicted to sugar, nor does it fuck with your gut health. Nope. No sirie. Sounds healthy AF. You sir, have got things figured out.

  • Honestly. It's not a bad idea. With an official diagnosis, it'll remove the uncertainty of a lot of this and allow you to focus on how to deal with it in a better way, whether that's finding support, medication, or just general information on how to deal with it.

  • If you wake up like this, you're doing something way wrong. Also, anyone that's waking up and facing a 2L of bottle soda isn't going to look even remotely slender like this...

  • I believe that a socialized democracy is a best of both worlds approach. We need stronger safety nets for people. People shouldn't have to live paycheck to paycheck and worry about if they are going to have a home if they lose their job. People shouldn't have to worry about losing everything if they have to go to the hospital. Education should 100% be free - we should be investing in a smarter, more educated population. I believe that we're seeing exactly what happens when we don't properly invest in education.

  • Statists or Tankies. Can we just find a nice happy middle ground ffs?

The amount of actual socialist communities on Lemmy is fucking absurd. I hate capitalism, but straight socialism isn't any better.

  • No...it's not. I got my ME 10 years ago now, and that place teaches you a lot of things that are insanely useful....such as, how to be smarter about time management and how to use your time more efficiently.

Make friends with a few other engineers and do regular study groups. Make a "To Do" list and update every single time you sit down. It'll lighten the mental load and allow you to gain a little perspective of where you are at with everything. SLEEP.

I guarantee you have more time than you think.

  • Maybe Techtonica? It just came out on Gamepass. It's like Satisfactory but in a cave and you can't just build anywhere... honestly, it's just another factory game though.

You play Dyson Sphere Program yet? It'll scratch a lot of itches. Riftbreaker was pretty fun as well. A little meh at the higher levels though.

  • Dude, this same thing happened to me. The "System" would just go apeahit after awhile and slow everything down. A refresh Windows install actually fixed a lot of problems that I was apparently having issues with.
