That seems like a bad idea? I don't know what antagonizing the US would help with in the current conflict. I'd think they want US support/compassion for Palistine to be higher not lower, and attacking is a sure way to plumit it.

That's the thing. It literally does not matter how much the American people support Palestine because the American government is going to do whatever the American ruling class wants.
There is no chance in hell Americans would vote to send aid to Israel if it was a referendum.

I don't think you're wrong about the first part, but I disagree that Americans wouldn't vote to support Israel. Many Americans support Israel for religious reasons, and many more see the nation as the only ally we have in the Middle East. It's a dramatic oversimplification of the reality, but nobody ever lost an election underestimating the American voters.

Edit: it would be really fucking great if people just realized that citizens are not responsible for the actions of their government/military… this goes for everyone - US, Russia, China, Israel, Palestine, EVERYONE

In a representative democracy, the people being responsible for their government is kind of the point.
Except representative democracy is a myth… Majority rule ≠ representation. Non-majority groups are unaccounted for. Plus, while the people may vote for representatives, they ultimately have no control over what said representatives decide to actually do. They can campaign for and promise all they want, but once they’re in office, they’re there.
Citizens are not responsible for the actions of their government.
Yeah. But we are an oligarchy.
Direct voting is the future.

You're right, this is what I was afraid of. Attacks like Isis did all over the world. I'm so tired of this shit. This is bad news for everyone, every faith, every non-faith, and only civilians will pay the price again and again.
Hate will grow, people will be divided, suspicions will rise compounded on every country's already specific problems.
And this time it will be worse, because the population is globalized and not homogeneous, so minorities will bear the worst of it...again. The difference is, I think this time they'll hit back, so civil unrest is not excluded.
No one is talking about global peace anymore, we have to get together worldwide and try to work to get peace in every country, everywhere. Maybe that way, we can get ALL countries to sign something in the way of the Geneva conventions, but add more binding protections for civilians. That way, when a country is struggling with terrorists, the whole world can help diffuse that, instead of this shit show.
It's naïve, I know, but we have the intelligence, surveillance, money and power to do it. Just not the willingness.
We have the ability, but peace isn’t profitable. In much the same way as curing disease isn’t profitable. War drives economy, and money is all that anyone in power gives a fuck about. Not you, not me, not anyone. Money.
So long as we live in a global society dominated by fake value points, this shit will continue. Because it works for them.
