Or at least not decommissioning old ones. A dollar invested into new solar or wind goes further than new nuclear right now, but we'll see if it tips more towards nuclear once the grid is a higher percentage intermittent and needs a lot more energy storage with it.
Modular nuclear reactors seem really cool though for replacing large long term generators like at construction or excavation sites.
But you can measure how much of the power of a grid is generated with fossil fuels at a particular place and time. For example, if they have more data centers where energy is cheap like from hydro or geothermal, then the carbon footprint will be less than if they were just using average power statistics.
If they're early talks, obviously they don't have plans yet.
I wonder if this is taking into account the energy mix of the particular data centers, or just using the average energy mix?

Relying on China for green tech long term is risky, but just slapping terrifs on it doesn't work. The US needs to heavily subsidize green energy to put it on an equal playing field. They've done it with domestic oil production since it promotes energy independence, it'd make even more sense for green energy since that's long term sustainable energy independence.
Part of the reason for not cooperating was China dropping boosters on populated areas I think.

Without knowing how this figure is calculated, this seems like a meaningless metric. Though the wealth gap is definitely a problem by any metric, I don't think this metric is very helpful.

OnStar reports location and speed data to the car manufacturer. Sometimes they will sell this data to insurance companies to raise your premium, as several news stores pointed out a few weeks ago. I couldn't really find an advantage to OnStar, (I have my phone to call emergency services) so I disabled it by pulling it's fuse.
For my 2019 bolt, it's f31 in the instrument panel fuse box, just down and to the left of the steering wheel. The fuse box cover comes off when you pull it hard from the bottom.
I was able to find which fuse went to OnStar in the owners manual and labeled on the inside of the fuse box cover. You should be able to find it for your model car there too if it uses OnStar.
I did have the casualty of my speaker for calls and texts. I'm not able to use it right now. I'll see if I can dig in and reconnect it somehow, but we'll see.
Who knows that other into they're snitching back to GM, or what they could do in the future, so I recommend disconnecting it. Good luck!
