holy shit i could listen for HOURS to someone talk about how grass grows if they're passionate enough about it.
Someone's interest in a subject tells you a lot about who they are! I want to KNOW them!
- It really depends on the topic for me. Friend who's whole world is MTG and can talk about it for days on end? I humor them as long as I can but I am not into deck builders and my mind goes numb. Girlfriend who has enough deep medical knowledge to test right out of a premed program? Incredibly enriching, like listening to a satisfying podcast, sit me in a comfy chair and feed it to my ears. But I always do listen, because I infodump too.

I get infodumps on a regular basis from my girlfriend but when I start telling her about stuff that I'm interested I usually get some variation of "I don't want to hear about this right now". It gets old.

  Yeah... There are things about her that I've never had in an SO that I don't want to go without but there are other things that drive me crazy. Historically I have a tendency to put up with stuff like that from attractive women. Also not healthy.

I wish I knew the difference between info- and trauma-dumping in the moment, but it takes a while for it to register due to my own autism. I unfortunately have only experienced the latter.
