Mislead the public? Oh my. I’m sure no tv channel has ever misled the public before, certainly none have made a business out of it.
Last I knew it isn't when a new broadcast. I don't see how it won't turn into a massive lawsuit for civil rights infringements.
Follow the standard scheme now and sue for $15 billion now as the president thinks that's a fair offer. Except Kimmel's case should be open and shut unless the judicial branch decides to just say they serve no purpose anymore.
Here is what Kimmel did, as far as I can tell. First accusation against Kimmel is, from Kimmel's Wikipedia page:
In his September 15, 2025, opening monologue Kimmel said about the reaction to the killing of Charlie Kirk that "[w]e hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it".
But we all saw Republicans doing this exact thing in real time. How is telling the truth in a way that leads people to the correct understanding of the situation an attempt to "mislead the public"?
Also, even if you assume that FCC Chairman Brendan Carr believes he himself is telling the truth, then isn't he doing the exact same thing that Kimmel did? Because he's saying that Kimmel is trying to characterize the assassin as conservative instead of his true political leaning, when Kimmel said the exact same thing, but opposite.
Regarding the killer's motives, "the Utah County Attorney, Jeff Gray, stated that the mother of the suspected assassin had said her son started leaning more to the Left and 'becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights orientated'". But that's a dubious source who has a reason to lie quoting another dubious source who has a reason to lie.
You think the assassin's mother wants to believe that it was her conservative teachings that led her son to murder? It could be true, or it could be a huge delusion. How many times have you seen a murderer's mother lying about their child's actions due to massive delusion? It happens all the time.
Even if we heard it from Tyler himself, I would be dubious. If he was actually a conservative, it would be easy to convince him to lie about this, I think.
Second accusation against Kimmel is from a video that I saw, where Kimmel commented on Trump's reaction to being asked about Kirk's killing, where Trump said he felt great and was excited about the progress on the White House Ballroom, and Kimmel mocked Trump about that. And that is also a completely truthful statement that doesn't mislead the public.
When I first heard about this accusation, I thought that Kimmel had probably done something that could easily be seen as bad, if you looked at it the wrong way. But everything I've seen has just been that he did nothing remotely wrong, and the people who are conspiring against him are simply lying.

What he did "wrong" is call the lie out in public. It's that simple.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss.
It's clear to anyone with half a brain that they've been looking for any excuse to capitulate to Trump's demand that Kimmel be fired. I watched the monologue and then had to come to the comments to see what I missed. It turns out I didn't miss anything.
Ok, and? It’s entirely legal to lie on a late night tv show. Gutfield has been doing it for years.
like how every sinclair-owned station was under orders to have their trusted local newscasters recite maga propaganda?
I don’t think it is about dead nazi guy. He talks a lot more about THE EPSTEIN FILES and trump having dementia.
They’re afraid corporate news will have no choice but to report on that.

So, next up OAN….right…,rigggghhhht
OAN doesn’t broadcast over federally licensed/regulated airwaves. But yes, this is bullshit.
Good point
So did Trump and Patel. Will they face any consequences?
By pointing out on video that Trump gave absolutely no fucks?
Where was the lie tho?

Had me worried for a minute there, I thought maybe he was alive again.
FCC's Carr misleads public that it is a legitimate governing body
You Americans need to make like the MAGA and cancel the FCC guy, get every man woman, child and dog you know to start emailing and phoning this dickhead, his office his mum's office, his dogs office and call for his head. Start digging up dirt on him and posting it all over the internet. Dox every contact method he has and use it to let him know he's an arsehole and should find a hole and bury himself in it every minute of every day. Then use this method on every other arsehole in the administration. Cancelling hulu is going to do 5/8ths of fuck all.
This only works on people who can either be shamed into leaving their jobs or work for people who will actually fire them.
Flooding his email and phones with complaints will at the very least slow down his and his staffs ability to get anything done and maybe lower his staffs morale.
Mislead‽ Outrageous! How in the world can we tolerate such shenanigans in our modern media!
I had to watch the Kimmel clip twice because I didn't hear anything controversial. These fascists are making themselves look foolish with this shit.
They've long looked foolish to anyone who cared to think about it, which means this is absolutely no loss for them. Just one more dissident removed, ready to be replaced with a state mouthpiece.
No, they tell each other that they are strong. They do not care what rational people think.
